Happy Tuesday, hoping for some help on this. Currently in a 2021 Arteon SEL-P and the lease ends next month. Debating whether to buy out the lease or do a new lease for a car that is no longer produced. Found one that I’m considering at a considerable discount, but I still feel there’s some wiggle room. Thoughts appreciated - and yes I know there are other vehicles out there, but I enjoy my V-Dubs (8th now). Fastback without the 4-ring premium.
Wow they still make this vehicle?
Lol Arteon guy is back!
BTW, are you ok taking a former loaner on a lease? I feel like the adjusted price (after discounts) should be much lower for you today… the Arteon is a rather low-demand vehicle that has finished production.
National City has this one $42,700 adjusted price after rebates. And I’m thinking they’ll haggle a ton more. But you all said VW dealers in SoCal are trash, so I don’t know.
Terrible deal. You are only getting a 7.5% discount off MSRP on a soon-to-be 2-yeard old car. Are you rolling in some equity into this lease?
Any reason you are not looking to finance one instead of leasing it?
You definitely need to get a bigger discount on this before the 5k lease incentive. I’d push for a least 20% off.
Same! Oddly my first thought went to the VW Phaeton when I heard Arteon.
At $5000 das/$600 a month on a leftover dinosaur, the 4-ring premium seems to be in full effect.
Ha, no hence the discount. For my needs, this fits - wife has the SUV, I need trunk space and a fun-ish drive.
It’s like I never left
Would be hesitant on a loaner, if it’s like anything how I would drive a rental. Well…
Used to leasing - like to change cars every so often.
This is literally the only car that fits your needs?
With such a low RV and minimal dealer discount, the proposed lease is terrible. I recall chatting about the Arteon in another thread a few months ago.
Good luck with your search.
That and your requirements are basically German, quirky, highly-appointed, and heavily discounted lol.
I think a 330i would be better than this Arteon, but it’s not quirky enough.
Dude, I literally posted the link earlier in this thread. It was actually @yokotrain and @Vannarith each being quirky Arteon hunters. But yeah, the Arteon is just a rough lease no matter how you spin it.
Too bad neither of these LH’ers are ok with CPO or loaners.
OP needs that (hatchback) trunk space.
Sounds like they need a M440ix instead of a M340ix…
I know I’m preaching here, but a BMW is no VW. I’d go with the BMW if I were OP.
All good, not that BMWs are bad, I just have never been a fan.
Are you including the rebate in the “discount?” The pre-rebate discount does not seem impressive for a leftover car that is out of production.
For VW? I say this as a current VW owner who likes their car; I don’t think I’d touch a VW CPO or loaner…
