Deal Check / Lease Help- 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

,

Hello Everyone,

Just got back from local Jeep Dealership in NJ, looking to lease (or finance) a 2024 Grand Cherokee Limited; (White/black out).

Base: $47,905
MSRP: $60,065 (optional equipment)
Discounts: $9,250 / ~15%
Sale price: $50,815

They said they could work a bit better price once i was ready to sign as I was shooting for 500-550ish/36 months/$2,500 down, but what I got so far was:

$3,500 down
$586 a month 39 months/10k a year; (they can lower to 7500k but said was only like $10 less) which I will probably do since wife drives like 5k a year.
Adjusted Residual Value: $36,039;

Looking for any feedback. If I am way over-paying, please help me understand why. If a broker can help me I’d completely open to that as well. I did reach out to 1-2 but have not heard back yet.

Thank you,
Mike

text me 201-936-0202 - i just got one my numbers were way better!! i got a more equipped one but for the one you have there!! it was more inexpensive !! just text Grand Cherokee

Are you open to any other makes and models?

Youre conflating things here. Your sheet shows a $56394 selling price, so you’re around 6% off msrp, not 15%, which is a poor deal.

The $9250 are incentives, not discounts. Being that this is cal leasing for the bank, i bet a good chunk is idl cash, which generally gets off set by the higher money factor from the non-standard bank.

As always, the place to start is to put together a target deal before reaching out to a dealer. You need to know what this should cost if you want to be able to effectively negotiate.

Hi Max_G – the other truck we were considering was the X5 but it’s a different price point all together. New Jeep / used X5. I really was hoping the 4runners did something special with their new lineups, but they fell short. hah.

Thank you mll for the input. Unfortunately, I am not sure what the take away message is from your response, or how to leverage that information. Yes the $9,250 is all incentives. Are you suggesting that before incentives they should be offering a initial % off the MSRP, and then add in the incentive deals - which would be much more appealing? Yes the 56k vs. the 60k is only around 6% off.

Appreciate any further insight.

When youre negotiating a deal with a dealership, what you’re essentially negotiating is how much dealer discount they’re willing to give you.

Add ons, mf mark ups, fees, etc are all just ways for them to manipulate the dealer discount.

Incentives come from the manufacture and/or bank. The dealer has no control over them. They are what they are. A deal sold at msrp with no dealer discount would still have the incentives included.

Before you ever speak to a dealer, you should be reviewing shared deals and broker listings here to establish a target dealer discount amount for this vehicle, and then calculate what the lease should be by applying the current incentives, residual, and money factor as they apply to your situation.

There should never be a surprise where you’re looking at a sealer sheet and youre unsure if it is a good deal or not. You have to know the answer to that question before engaging a dealer if you want to be effective.

I appreciate that MLL. I did reach out to 1-2 brokers on here but did not hear back, so I figured next best thing would be get input on what they provided.

I have not seen many other deals on here for Jeeps (that contain good details) to base mine off of. Especially with as you said, being able to distinguish what were the incentives vs. actual % off MSRP. I dont see any updated sheets on them either, so I’m doing what I can for now to get the ball rolling!

I have this car in a 4XE. I pay 430 a month with 1400 at signing and I don’t even think it’s worth $430. There’s so many better options than this at that price range. Honda passport comes to mind, 5th gen 4Runner, even QX60

Appreciate the input Axz. Unfortunately you cant really compare electric to gas when it comes to rebates etc.

Also, although I think the QX60 is very nice, not our style and the 4runner they missed the mark still on the new ones, and the older have zero tech.

Agreed on rebates but there are brokers here offering way better deals on both. Also the 4XE is much more powerful than the old 3.6, youd be better off with it even if you don’t charge. It’s a fine car, I drove mine 15 miles on the beach today and it is great for that, but it just really feels cheap and poorly made.

It’s crazy to pay this much for a mainstream, non-luxury car IMO or to pay close to double the better deals on other mainstream, non-luxury cars.

Which one do u recommend

Thank you Axz- again, Im looking for Lease information / help ensuring I am getting a good deal. I am not here to debate which car is better or opinions of that sort.

Thank you!

Thank you for your input. Again, I am not here to have a debate on luxury vs. non luxury or what is mainstream or not.

Everyone has different brand preferences but in the Marketplace there are 5-seat SUVs starting at sub $300 with just inception fees DAA.

This is just not a good time to lease a Jeep GC. The MF equates to 7.2% and the discount is too low. The rebate looks good though. How much would this cost to buy?
