Hi Leasehackr,
after checking with several dealers, I got the below verbal offer from one of them (but not willing to give detailed quote). is this a good deal, please review and let me know your thoughts.
MSRP: 66450
dealer discount: 5% off of MSRP
total rebates: 13k (while every other kia dealers. around offered only 10,400, including him at first. he agreed to go beyond. but not willing to share details)
- is this a good deal?
- the dealer is ~100miles away and not wants me to come in person; i had experiences before with dealers going back & forth on numbers. so i’m hesitant to drive there unless i see complete numbers, but he is hesitant and in kind of deadlock for 2 days. meantime I haven’t seen any other dealers coming closer to this numbers. And they all say it’s impossible and that dealer will jack up & make the numbers, in the final invoice.
have you been in similar situation? any advice?
Any dealer that isn’t willing to put something in writing and allow terms to be settled prior to coming into the dealership isn’t worth your time, and is likely a strong indicator of other issues. Save yourself the time, frustration, and exhaustion….move on to a more reputable dealer.
Thanks. If he comes back with a written deal/quote, what do you think about the deal?
What’s the DAS and monthly? Have you compared to what brokers are offering in your region? Most incentives are available to everyone, they aren’t “offering you more” or pulling them out of thin air. Have you created a calculator with your target deal?
I would not trust a dealers word unless you have everything in writing.
Move to a strategy of making offers.
Plug the following into the LH calculator after MSRP of the vehicle you’re looking at:
Selling price based on % pre-incentive discount found by searching Shared Deals and Marketplace sections of this forum.
RV, MF and incentives (lease cash) from Rate Findr. Add any extra rebates you qualify for (college grad, etc) under incentives.
DMV fees and taxes based on your state’s official website.
