Deal Check: Kia EV9 Land Utah

I would really appreciate any thoughts on this lease.

Discount is weak.

And you’re getting beaten up on your trade. What’s the deal with that?

The trade is a ‘22 Tesla Y Performance. They offered 29k with 35k miles on it. Car is in excellent condition.

Is there a reason why you are trading in the Tesla and rolling in almost 16.5k into another lease?

This is a pretty poor deal overall to be honest.

Keeping the Tesla is the only fiscally responsible move here.

I do not want four more years of an auto loan. I purchased the car when Tesla leases were not available in ‘22 in Utah. A 2-3 lease will clean up the books and with a lower interest rate.

You will be lighting 16-17K on fire to do so then.

I mean just doing the face value numbers (and not doing anything else)

3 yrs with this lease = $42,400
4 yrs Remaining Tesla = $45,491

Would get a better idea based on what you pay monthly for the Tesla.

But rule of thumb is rolling negative equity into another lease isn’t a good idea. Look at the guy in the Nissan leaf thread. If I remember correctly his was 9k

Im at $1,033 a month on the tesla loan at 4.5% The MF should be about 2.5% i agree never roll negative equity into a lease though the cost of money is less and i would be done in 24-36 months.

Well technically done right? You would need another car after.

I mean, if you are comfortable with what Kia could charge you a month at $1.149.44 and you are paying now $1033, could you increase your payments with the Tesla to knock the loan out? $116 over the next 3 years is an extra $4176.

Face value on the deal though this isnt a great deal from that kid dealership

I always lease. The Tesla was a rare exception.

Finishing up the Tesla loan means he actually owns something of value too decreasing TCO.

Lol I feel attacked! It wasn’t the result of rolling negative equity in, I just should have bought a Bolt for 20 something instead of a Leaf for 13.5.

What should be considered a good deal on the selling price of a EV9 Land?

Sorry! Didn’t mean it to come away like that!

I think some of the members in there had some good ideas for you though!

Lol I know, this place has been very helpful to help me think of different ideas for sure. No worries at all. I just saw you mention my situation when looking through the posts. It made me laugh.

Have you clicked on search here for ‘EV9 Land’? Great place to start…also make sure you can negotiate and calculate a lease yourself by using calc, etc.

You also had a Tesla?

8-10% pre-incentive

you’re talking lease here right, not for purchase correct?
