Deal Check: Kia EV9 Land MA Lease

, ,

Hi all! I am beginning lease negotiations on a Kia EV9 land and based on all the previously posted deals in here and the values I am getting on the calculator I can see something is clearly way off here. I know the Nano Cure is pointless and am going to see if that can be removed, but the monthly prices are still much higher than I’d expect. In terms of next steps should I ask them to confirm their money factor and residual on the deal (I assume either/both are causing this inflated monthly payment) or approach a different way? My goal is to get to a payment in the $500’s with a few thousand due at signing maximum for 3 years/36,000 miles (noted this deal sheet says 10,000 and will need to be corrected).

Thank you!

No deal. They will claim it’s a deal, but the rebates all come from Kia corporate. $2K off is nothing.

if your goal is low $500’s then you will either need to find a better SUV or negotiate a bigger discount. Assuming ~and 8% discount and ignoring the add + base MF here is a potential target deal —> CALCULATOR | LEASEHACKR
edit—the 13K in rebates is only available it appears (assuming last months data) on a 24 month term…

To make it worse, this is only $700 off since they have a $1300 add on

What % discount is required to get you there based on the current programs?

Using their numbers (I think I plugged them in correctly) I can get to a number I’d be comfortable with using these entries Calculator

But what I don’t understand is their deal sheet shows a “total purchase” of even less than my “selling price” but with monthly payments much higher. So I think this means they must be altering the money factor or residual? Am I better off responding with a specific breakdown of money factor, residual, etc. or just saying "I am looking to be in the $500 range with $5,000 due at signing " to cut to the chase and see how they respond? This is my first time negotiating over email and trying to slow the process down vs doing at dealership so I appreciate all the tips and feedback.

Their “total purchase price” includes the $13k 24 month incentives, etc.

Their actual selling price theyre showing is $75113.

Ah okay I see your point. So the deal sheet shows they are discounting the price but the monthly prices they are quoting are assuming the full retail? If I adjust price in the calculator to be full price my monthly numbers nearly match theirs. Calculator

The deal sheet shows them discounting by $2000 and then charging for a $1300 add on, so theyre really only discounting $700.

Thanks so much. So all the “discounts” are just cap cost reduction but since the lease residual is based on MSRP them effectively not reducing it is still hurting my monthly price. Looking at the window sticker for this I see it also had the relaxation and tow packages which added a few thousand so I’m going to get a deal sheet for another model without those, and hopefully without the addons, and see how willing they are to discount MSRP. From what I see on the forums 5-6% seems pretty typical.

The monthly hurts because the dealer isn’t giving you much of a discount. Thats all.
