Deal Check: Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

Location: California

Model: 2025 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

Situation: I currently lease a Wrangler Rubicon 4xe. My wife and I absolutely love the car, but recognize it is a luxury and that this is certainly not the cheapest car we could get or even the best deal on the most premium car we could get. We just really like driving around town in the wrangler with the occasional wheeling a few times a year. Our lease is up end of october with 1 remaining payment. The dealer indicated they would eat the cost of the remaining payment to pull us into the deal listed below.

Solicited feedback: Is this in line with the best deal I can get this month? Is it better to roll the dice and see how incentives look in Sep/ Oct?

Calculator: LH Calculator

6% pre-incentive on a wrangler is very, very meh

Thank you for the feedback. What % should I be targeting?

I suspected as much. The reason I reached out is because they were advertising a much larger discount of 6k dealer discount + 1.5k Labor Day sale + 4.5k national bonus cash which was the best publicly advertised in my area. But for whatever reason couldn’t get close to that on a lease

Probably doesn’t help you much but I have a Rubicon 4XE lease expiring around the same time and I’m in the “never gain” crowd after having leased 4xe.. though i’m in the market for a gas rubicon

I didn’t have a negative experience with the 4xe, I definitely want another rubicon, but I’m not willing to roll the dice again on a 4xe. Have you started shopping around at all? Any data points to compare to the one I posted above?

Only other data point is seeing a bit of discounting on inventory vehicles (using cars.com) but i haven’t reached out.

Couple gripes i have about the 4xe is it gets worse mpg than a v6 on road trips (because it runs out of battery in 20 miles) and the depleted battery is a paper weight that reduces the useful load of the jeep. First world problems but when i had a v6 rubicon it stays parked during work/errand days and i just drive my tesla around lmao.

And during wheeling with 0 battery you’re basically carrying a paper weight on the trails making the jeep less agile. Worst of all, wheeling at <5mph which is probably 90% of trails out there, the transmission overheats and the car goes to limp mode and you need to idle for like 5 minutes before starting up again.

Other than the whole extra 100hp/200 ft lbs, better city mpg, better handling due to lower cost, etc., but yes, highway mpg is a little lower.

Any feedback on what I should be targeting off pre-incentive?

I’d be pushing for 10ish probably. There should be broker offerings to reference.

I was able to get a TDM code and also get them to 7%. Leaning towards taking the deal since the car is optioned exactly as I want it (right color, not paying for a bunch of tech options that I don’t really want, v6) and I don’t really want to dedicated any more weekends to this. Leasehackr calculation. The way I’m thinking about it is if getting to 10% pre-incentive saves me $60 a month so $2.1k over the term of the lease, which could very easily get wiped out by a broker fee plus additional time spent researching this plus paying for options I don’t want or need. Would like some final feedback from the geniuses here though. Am I getting screwed?

This is LH, a vast majority of people on here would pay a $600 broker fee and save the $1500. If it comes with more options that you do not want but is less expensive, I’d lean towards going with a broker and having a few extra options you may never use.

I’d imagine if you talk to a broker or two you may find the exact options you want on one they have in stock. It usually only takes a day or two to engage with a broker and the actual time spent would be a couple of hours. Not weekend(s) of doing it yourself, that’s a large part of the value proposition of a broker.

Is the deal listed a 4xe or rubicon? I got a quote for a V6 rubicon, same lease money factor and 70% residual

No it was v6. What were you quoted? Or how did the pre incentives and incentives compare?

63k msrp for $600 incl tax $3k driveoff 36/10
