State and came across some Black Friday deals for Jeeps locally. I never imagined a Jeep could cost 80k, but I guess this model was pretty loaded.
I added the deal to the calculator (I was not able to match exactly) the monthly payment seems high, but I would appreciate the experts’ opinion on whether I could find a better deal out of state. I think the money factor might be negotiable, and this dealer did not offer MSDs.
You can check leases in Marketplace for Mazda CX90, Volvo XC90, etc. Or even leasing to immediately buy a PHEV version of RAV4 prime would come out way ahead on TCO.
A Jeep is not any of those makes/models you mentioned and he/she didn’t say they were cross-shopping.
@Knox2022 - The prices on Jeep 4XEs seem to be dropping fast. Some dealers in SoCal are now advertising 5% or more off when just a few weeks ago everything was MSRP on the ad front. While the deals in the PNW are generally awful, I think you could shop this around and even ship one to you from somewhere on the West Coast.
I would go on the Jeep Build & Price tool, build what you want and then look at the New Inventory tool to see what dealer has something on the lot that is what you want or close, then start working the emails/phones to get a deal. I am thinking that 15% off MSRP plus incentives is possible right now with some serious legwork so you can eliminate that down payment and save $50 per month as well.
Edit: Or just contact a broker that can get you a car to WA.
Appreciate the feedback. I don’t plan to take the deal because, at this price range, there are a few other options, even fully electric, that I still need to nail down. This car is to replace a Volvo XC60; my wife is leaning towards more luxury SUVs like MB, Audi, and BMW. Here in Seattle, the maximum discount these brands are offering before incentives is 1k. Perhaps with a 15% MSRP discount, Jeep becomes an option.
I will definitely contact dealers out of state, and I will check with the brokers in the marketplace.
There are a few dealers with extra $1000 stale inventory coupons (though is be surprised they havent used them yet) that lets them get closer to that 10% number, so that doesnt surprise me at all. 15% is a very different thing.
Not playing that game again where someone constructs goalposts that only one vehicle can get through.
Bottom line, pay luxury vehicle money for luxury vehicles, save money with mainstream vehicles. Don’t end up in the worst of those worlds, OP, paying luxury price for a mainstream vehicle.
This is an Overland, but given the MSRP, we are entering the Summit range. The dealer website is offering a 10% MSRP discount for several vehicles for Black Friday before incentives, so I did not need to ask for it. I do think 12-15% might be available for 2023 as the end of the year approaches.
