I’ve recently been looking at 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Summits, especially after seeing some crazy discounts + incentives on them. I reached out to 3 dealerships now that has them advertised with a bunch of money off but when I get the numbers back on the lease it sounds way too high. So I’m not sure if they’re just being sneaky with the discounts and jacking up the MF etc but need some help.
Both dealerships I’ve dealt with so far became very hesitant when I asked for the MF and residual which yes usually is a red flag but I shouldn’t need to pull teeth for this answer.
Dealer 1 example: Vehicle MSRP listed $87,730
Shows dealer discount of -$21,961
OEM Incentives -$3,000
Sale price: $62,769
… So sounds like a killer discount so I reach out about leasing.
They get back to me and share: 39 months/10k miles/ $1,136 per month
Which sounds insane to me.
I challenge them on the MF & residual and their response was: 52% residual, “money factor around $80,000” <never seen a dealer say that as their response to MF. In no way am I lease expert which is why I’m here. Then next day they drop the monthly down to $995… Is it better yes but still doesn’t sound right. Still won’t send me anything in writing either.
~Any insight on what’s going on here??
Dealer 2:
Not as much discount as the other deal which I didn’t even begin negotiations on but this is what they sent me so far.
They said MF is .00200
Can someone fact check this for me, and what % off can I realistically push for? Also I plan on telling them to take off all the dealer add ons, and lowering month term. (Screenshot below)
Definitely not that special at 50k in 4 years. Just seeing how discounted they’re and incentives I figured the leases would reflect that. So more so seeing if these numbers I’m getting are actually what it truly is in the market for these right now or these dealers are just playing games with me
Keep in mind since your a super supporter you have access to the mf & rv in the LH calculator.
It’s highly recommended around here to make an offer to a dealer first based off what you see is possible in the Signed section in here vs asking, “what are the best numbers” I can get on X.
Lastly and you may know this but the higher trim level you go up obv the MSRP and eventual sales price increase however the rv also drops lower which as you can see leads to some pretty steep payments for a Jeep or maybe gets out of the “value proposition”.
It’s your money so if you value all the bells and whistles then go for it.
Most of the GC 4Xe’s in here if I recall were Base Limiteds in order to have some options but also a reasonable rv and sales price or as reasonable as possible considering Jeeps pricing strategy of mark it up to then mark it down giving an “appearance” of value or a good deal.
OUCH! is all i can say with the all the products they’re selling you.
$5750 in products that really cost them about $200.
You’re better off getting a BMW IX around $100,000 with alot more tech for the same payment.
I would opt for the SFS lease with $10,500 in rebates for 48 months, same term and down without the aftermarket products if they’re willing to do the same discount. example structure below.
It sounds like their website is showing a whole bunch of non-stackable incentives rolled into the selling price.
As is ALWAYS the case, you need to start out by putting together a target deal so you know what this lease should be. You can not effectively negotiate without knowing where you’re trying to get to.
I agree on all the bs dealer aftermarket add on’s, at a point in the negotiation I will definitely tell them to take them all off for sure.
From the numbers you typed out I have a few questions. There’s $10,500 worth of rebates on this model vehicle currently? Where do I go to see this because clearly I don’t know haha.
^But now with knowing that, it wouldn’t be unrealistic to ask for more money off the actual MSRP of vehicle right? As it stands they’re talking off the $5,750 (7.2%) would it make sense to ask for 10-12% off msrp then stack the incentives?
I’m also in TX so tax is 6.25% I believe
Really would like to be in the 700s on a lease payment for this vehicle and no more than 39 months so maybe I’m already way off on what I think I could get to.
Okay quick update. In talks with another dealer on a 4xe summit reserve. The screenshot below is from them. They’re saying the estimated MF is .00336 and they can put 4k rebate into the payments and 4k after. Also, said the dent and appearance packages can’t come off… I asked if they can do the SFS in order to get a better MF and rebate and they said they won’t know until after credit run. Let me know if this makes.
When I put everything into the calculator (which I’m very new to this site and how any of this works so I could be entering stuff incorrectly) with using SFS MF and rebate I’m at a $429 difference in monthly payment after taxes with choosing 36 months/12k miles.
Yeah the numbers aren’t adding up to me especially with supposedly 17% off msrp. What am I missing here that the numbers are so high? Maybe they are hiding some crazy residual or MF and lying?
These have like $13k in incentives on them, not $4k or $8500 (which is what theyre showing on the leases.)
You need to stop talking to dealers and put together a target deal so you know what this should cost.
Going and asking dealers blindly for a quote is a waste of time and a great way to get bent over.
You should be able to look at this offer and instantly know it’s all bullshit. If you can’t, you have not properly prepared before talking to a dealer.
I can post my deal sheet on here later that lays out the whole deal but i just signed on a 2024 GC limited 3 row, $56,0000 msrp and i got it for $0 DAS and $580/m on a 39/10 lease. those offers from the dealer are terrible, and if you are willing to get a lower msrp one you can get them for a decent deal for todays market.
Thanks for the feedback! Like I said I’m a newbie and I already see what I did wrong on the calculator. I was doing it SFS to see what the numbers would drop to if they ran it under that instead of the rebates they’re adding which is 8k in total.
So I did the 10k discount +4k as if that’s what they were taking off MSRP but in a way it’s not plus it wouldn’t be that way it did SFS anyway so that’s my bad.
So this vehicle (4xe summit) is it unrealistic to be shooting for 12% at minimum off MSRP not including rebates. Then on top of that get the $10,500 rebate through SFS with 51% residual and money factor of 0.00272? 36 months/12k a year/$0 down?
I’d appreciate that!! I started focusing on the summit trim because it seemed to me at the time there are killer discounts but maybe I misread it.
The limited would be cool (don’t need 3rd row), black out package, and I do want the upgraded sound system which seems to make it harder to find one on the lot with it near me
Warning:
Some SFS leases charge 50 cents a mile for extra miles over the lease amount on the Summit and Summit Reserve models, they think they have a Maybach or something.
I helped my sister in law lease a Summit Reserve 4xe last year. It’s actually really nice but seriously, who would walk in to a Jeep dealer and write a check for a $85,000 Grand Cherokee ??
The Summit reserve has the Palermo leather and the Mcintosh stereo, so if your thinking a Summit, might as well do a Summit Reserve
I see the best program this month is a SFS lease for 42 months, not ideal with the bumper to bumper warranty of 36 months. You may want to wait for the August programs. Her Driveshaft was just replaced at 22,000 miles, it just blew up, so only drive these under the bumper to bumper warranty, if you think you will go over the 3/36K, buy a short term factory extended warranty from Jeep
Found the perfect thread. I’m in the market now as of this day. Like the OP, I am a complete n00bers to leasing. Looking at CDJR branches for a 24 JL High Alt/Rubicon 4xe. Apparently, I was 4mos late when Jeep ran a $386/mo on Rubicon 4xe. I’m looking at today’s deal on dealer web and nothing comes close to this number.
Here is the screenshot deal in the lease calculator using SFS. They must have marked up the money factor. The below calculator is with only first month due at signing. I don’t know how the dealer is doing the rebate. They may not be using SFS. I got my rebate number from Ratefinder. No matter how you slice this it’s going to be a horrible lease. Even with additional dealer discount it’s going to be an eye watering number.
Bottom line what’s your goal here? What number are you trying to get to? If we know that we can maybe tell you if you’re just wasting your time on this. I don’t see how you’re going to get to much less than $1k/month with only first month DAS. TX tax and dealer adds kill an already bad lease.
Hey I appreciate the feedback! Yeah I’m starting to quickly realize that about the 4xe summit not being less then 1k a month without money down which I went into thinking I can get it into the low 800s easily with 12% off MSRP and SFS with the $10,500 rebate, 52 residual, and lowered MF. <which when I tell dealers about SFS some throw a random rebate like they did in my earlier example and then also say residual is not 51 (so maybe the rate finder isn’t accurate or dealers just continue to lie). One place said 47 is the set residual and can’t change? Once again I’m new to this.
With seeing this I did some research on the “signed” deals on here and saw some people getting in the 500-700 range on the 4xe anniversary edition. I reached out to 4 dealers so far, requesting 12% off msrp (excluding rebates), then numbers put together with SFS which is the same rebates and residual shows 52 on ratefinder. Two places got back to me; one at $999 a month and said it’s their best deal at end of the month. Then the other sent me numbers at $1001 a month, took 5k off then proceeds to add 3k in add ons which I told them upfront if you’re going to add any I’ll look into elsewhere. I’ll post it below as some of you may find funny
So yes, I do know I only contacted a few dealers so far but I’m so confused on how they’re at $1k a month when I literally have a quote for 4xe summit for $1059 a month.
Sorry for the rant, figured dropping trim levels I’d see a big drop in payment but either I’m doing this wrong or these dealers I’m picking are terrible.
Are you hell bent on getting a GC 4xe? There are much cheaper options in the same size category. Some even luxury makes. If you really want this Jeep, I wish you good luck dealing with CDJR dealers. It’s going to be an UPHILL battle. What part of TX are you in?
Those dealer adds are tacking on almost $90/month to your payment. Dealer adds do not residualize like things that are listed on the Factory MSRP. You are paying for them 100% over the term of the lease.
