BMW X5 X40i - 80,875 MSRP
39/7500 - 948/month
MF .0015
Is it a decent deal to take?
You’re getting about 10.5% off but the MF is marked up, so it’s really 9%. I’m at 11% and base MF in SoCal if you’re willing to go down there or ship.
are you really putting $13k down?
I think that includes MSDs, shown as $9500, which doesn’t make sense given the payment amount. In fact, a lot of things don’t make sense given the base MF of 0.0019.
BMW went to 10 MSDs. MF is being marked up.
oh yeah. i was temporarily blinded by the $13k das
Thanks. How did I miss this??
The $13k also includes the $2k in rebate cash. Money factor is being marked up by 0.00020 (half of the max 0.00040 markup)
Here’s the calculator for your deal:
It’s not a bad deal, I would just ask for buyrate and drop the down payment so you’re paying for just first payment, reg, taxes, and dealer doc fee + the MSDs at signing. You’ve done well enough on your own that it probably won’t make sense to pay a broker fee to get just a slightly better deal and have to deal with driving far / shipping. Good luck!
Update: Here’s what my proposed target offer above would look like (just asked for exactly this and I’m pretty sure they’ll play ball given it’s 1/31):
MSRP… 80875.00
Sell Price… 72450.00
Acq Fee… 925.00
Gross Cap… 73375.00
CCR Cash… 1254.16
CCR Rebate… 2000.00
Adj. Cap… 70120.84
Discounted MF … 0.00150
Term… 39
RV… 42863.75 … 53% x MSRP
Sales Tax Rate… 9.375%
Below is an itemization of the lease inception fees…
1st payment… 949.79
DMV Fee… 542.00
Other Fees ??? … 356.00*** (itemize!)
Doc Fee… 85.00
Doc Fee Tax… 7.97
Cust. Cash CCR… 1254.16
CCR Tax… 305.08 … 9.375% x (2000 + 1254.16)
10 MSD’s… 9500.00
TOTAL DUE AT SIGNING… 13000.00
*** There is only one-way to get 13000 DAS… the un-itemized fees due upfront must total 356. Note that 542 + 356 + 85 = 129 + 854 = 983. Typical dealer worksheet… done half-assed.
The initial MF = .00210 appears to be marked up as @gohawks23, @carrot56 and @BimmerCarDeals stated. The 2K rebate is not included in the 13K due upfront. It’s a rebate. Therefore, you don’t pay it. You only pay the tax on the 2K rebate as it is used as a CCR.
