Deal Check - BMW X1 xDrive28i in MA

,

Hi everyone,

In the market for a X1 and wanted to get some feedback.

Looking at 2 cars. One in stock that has most of the features I’d like and another that is on the way that a dealer is trying to swipe before it hits the VPC.

The in stock car is:
MSRP: $47930
Selling Price: $45000
36 month / 10,000 mi
Incentives: $1000 (Lease Cash+Corporate)
MSD’s: 7 ($4550)
Doc Fee: $599
Government Fee: $170

Monthly: $632
DAS: $2500

The calculator gets within $1

Calculator #1

The option coming in 2 weeks has all the options I’d want and none more so what I want. I just started negotiations after telling them this previous offer and will follow up in the morning but this is what they have, and not a lot of numbers to substantiate this so I’ll get those when I can.

MSRP: 48005
Discount: 3%
36 months / 10,000 mi

Monthly 750
Due at Signing 2500
MSD’s: 7 ($4900)

I can’t even get the calculator to match these so I’ll work on getting more numbers to make an actual calculator link

There’s not a whole lot of data for MA in terms of how much X1s go for so I wanted to see if I can do better elsewhere, and more or less if I’ve got a decent deal here.

Also have looked out of state and found a car in NJ but lowest I’ve gotten was 5% off and it’s a real pain to buy out of state for MA. If anyone has any tips with that I greatly appreciate it.

Thank You!

That’s big money for an X1

Yes they are terrible leases

It for sure is, wish it wasn’t so expensive for the entry level SUV but it’s the only car this kind of size that I fit well in being 6’3” and wanting a smaller suv for the city. The next best option is a Volvo XC40 which I know does lease a lot better than these, and I honestly like everything else about the car too, but I have a hard time getting comfortable in it compared to the BMW. So I think I’d rather pay the extra to be comfortable instead of saving a little and end up not liking the Volvo. I’ve also tried the Tonale and few others like Mazdas or Honda’s but keep coming back to the X1

Is a Tiguan too big/too downmarket/too outdated? Partner (who is 6’3") fits well in Golf Sportwagen, and the Tiguan seems to have as much headroom (from what I can see from an internet search).

Hey
Can you help me find me a lease broker for Southern California ?

That’s fine but why would you pay that high of a % on any car’s purchase price to rent it for N years, return it and start again?

That’s the opposite of hacking.

X3 wouldn’t work? You could probably get into one of those for less $$$ than X1

There’s not a lot of inventory of X3s with Driving Assistant Pro and you can’t add it after the fact like you can with the X1. Ones that are coming to Boston are being built now in South Africa according to the dealer, so a couple months out they say, but would be a better deal.

I did speak to the dealer of the in stock one and was able to get them down to 44550, which is 7.05%. Makes monthly payment $616 a month at $2500 due at signing.

That seems pretty decent all things considered, still a lot for an entry level BMW SUV of course, but it’s in stock and has pretty much what I’ve been looking for.
