Deal Check: BMW iX 50

,

I’m interested in a 24 BMW iX and got the following offer from a dealer. I know the discount they are giving is good, but because of all these extra things, I don’t think it is a good offer. However, I’m trying to educate myself and understand how this deal is being calculated. I hope you guys can help me with some questions i have:

  1. Where are the Acquisition Fee, Dealer Fees and Government Fees?
I don’t see these explicitly in the deal so I’m wondering if these make up the Cash Down

  2. Can the charges for Wheel Locks, Rubber Mats, First Aid Kit and a “Special Gettel Package” be negotiated out of the deal?
The dealer hinted that the Gettel package comes on all cars, but this seems a bit bogus and just a way to add extra profit to the dealer

  3. What is a Pre-Delivery Service Charge and can this be negotiate out of the deal?
I’ve read some conflicting things on this. I’ve seen that dealers can add these types of fees, so I don’t know does it represent any of the dealer or gov fees, or if it can be negotiated out of the deal entirely?

  4. When it comes to these extras, if some are unavoidable, how would I add them into the Leasehackr Calculator?
They are lumping in the 9900, 11% off and extra charges in what ends up being the Selling Price. This is strange to me because it seems like taxes aren’t being factored into the cost of the extras and the 9900 lease credit from BMW.

Please help me if you can.

That honestly doesn’t really look that good. Actually it’s quite terrible.

I appreciate your honesty. When I calculated through the top section, I was able to get that they are giving 11% off the MSRP (good) and 9,900 lease credit (good), but then adding the $3,542 back in for those bogus extras (bad). Additionally, the Pre-Delivery charge and Cash Down seem a bit ambiguous too. I just don’t know which those can be negotiated out. They must also be marking up the interest and I’m not sure if there are pieces of data they can hide from the customer, but there is something marking up the monthly payment like crazy.

Yeah there is definitely some padding going on there. I sent you a DM to see if we can make something worth your while.

The added packages are a joke so get rid of those first. That should drop the monthly by ~$100. Second issues is that they are not telling you the money factor which is definitely marked up as well. I believe a current great deal is .00111 and a good deal is probably .00151 or below. That is going from memory though so you probably want to double check against some other deals posted.

The overall price negotiated is solid so once those other two items are cleaned up you should be in a good place. If they won’t play ball @IAC or other dealers will give you the same price with the base MF and no add on BS. There are a massive number of cars on the ground so you are buying at the right time.

They made it clear that they are taking advantage of you. They said it was $2995 but I would say it is greater than that.

Terrible deal. You are getting ripped off. Good thing you came to check. You got nice discount off besides getting that extra stuff added back in which you should get rid of. Main concern is MF. It’s probably marked up to the maximum possible value. If you are in no EV sales tax state, you should aim for 900-950 a month. If taxed, perhaps low 1000s. It can be better but I don’t think that dealer will go that low after giving you this quote. If you can get monthly payment lower and just happy to get the car earlier or locally instead of working with a broker to save couple thousands more, you should go ahead. If they won’t go below 1000 in no tax state or 1100 in tax state, stop wasting time talking to that dealer and try a broker. They should be able to lower that monthly payment from 1363/mo to 900-1000/mo or even lower. That’s that’s like $13000 saving over three years less 600-700 broker fee less shipping fee in few hundred dollars.

Yeah I would for sure look into money factor like tensor flower stated. I believe you could definitely find better. Get all those add ons removed.

At least you got a quote to take home. I wasted an hour of my life going back and forth at a dealership in Charlotte and they wouldn’t even allowed me to take their printed offer home.

Youre not getting 11% discount. Theyre quoting a big discount, but then claw a big chunk back with the $3500 in add ons. Theyre probably also clawing a good chunk back with a marked up mf. This is probably more like 5% off msrp.

They’re also not doing you any favors on the incentives. You get those from BMW. The dealer isnt involved.

The $1099 pre-delivery service charge is the dealer fee.
