I searched around locally and contacted several dealers but no one came close to this.

What do you guys think?
Does anyone knows of a way to get the BMW Tire and Rim protection plan for cheaper than what is quoted at the finance department of the dealership when signing?
Well be wary with Tire & Rim plans.
AFAIK only CNA and/or Safeguard (BMW Ultimate Tire & Rim Protection) are any good.
But yeah, I know a few good ways, what did they quote you? We need to know the term of the plan, coverage limitations, does it cover cosmetic damage? And your region.
I was quoted $3400+ for a tire plan on my M4.
Eventually got a CNA ultimate plan from a different BMW dealer for $1900ish.
PM me if you want the details. I think the only thing is that you won’t be able to roll it into your lease payments if you planned on doing that.
You’re missing tons of details but on the surface it looks like an awful deal.
Standard advice #1: get all the details from the dealer.
Pre-incentive discount, incentives, MF, doc fees and add-ons, etc. Compare this to Edmunds.
Standard advice #2: Search the broker listings and compare your numbers.
You’re in VA so should have a plethora of brokers who can help. For example @nyclife has a $93k 840xi GC listed for $834/mo (pre-tax, terms adjusted to match) which blows your deal out of the water.
Yeah, numbers are accurate for 36/10, loyalty, and MD tax. People say “awful deal” without realizing the amount of tax built-in - $3,400 in this case, which is $95 a month of the payment - or that the residual is only 54%, so there’s approximately $30,000 of depreciation.
Maybe this deal isn’t truly “awful” however I definitely was taking VA taxes into consideration when saying it’s nowhere near as good as the one mentioned above.
With taxes the OP’s quote is almost $150/mo more, or over $5,000 higher over the term of the lease.
You are correct. I see that others on the forum have posted upto 15% discount. These cars are pretty limited and I myself checked out about 5-7 dealerships - most don’t have any cars and some have 2-3 at most. They are saying limited stock and don’t see much new inventory coming and refusing to budge on the discounts.
I checked the MF and Residual on Edmunds, all that adds up. It is the discount that causing it too look like not a “terrific deal”.
Back in March I picked up a $96k MRSP 840iGC for 11% off, base MF and tax credits up to $75k. Also had loyalty and PenFed, which took off another $3500. Monthly is at $1130 for 36/15 with $2k at signing. Without those credits, would have been looking at another $120+ per month. Given that VA tax is on full amount, think your deal looks good if the discount is north of 10% off pre-incentive.
Don’t see a lot of posts on here about the 8GC, but I love mine! It’s truly a great car, and certain you will love it too!
Not sure if AAA has a similar program in your area but I picked up 3 year Wheel and Tire through them on my 19 M850 for about $1700 tax included. Not only do they cover the wheels and tires, but also up to $5k of key replacement through the term of the policy as well as paintless dent repair. I’m not a AAA member, and you don’t need to be one to get this coverage but I will say they were very transparent with a sample contract provided before I agreed to sign. The warranty company they use happens to be the same company that my local volume dealer uses as well, so I can’t imagine it being bad.
