Deal Check Audi S5 Sportback Prem+ Lease Offer

,

First time poster, appreciate all the help from LH forum.
I’m considering this lease offer for 2024 Audi S5 Sportback Prem+ and would really appreciate any input whether this is a good competitive deal. Here are the details.

Lease Terms:

MSRP $65730
Selling Price $59979
Lease 36/10k
Money Factor 0.00153 3.67%
Residual Value $41410 63%

Monthly Payment $671
Due At Signing $5340 (1st month lease $671 + Fees $2360 + Taxes $2309)

Currently no incentives but heard that historically June is a better month for leasing. I know nobody it’s not easy to predict the future but you guys see Audi offering better discounts/incentives in month of June? Thanks for all your help

I’m certainly not one of the more knowledgable posters, but I feel badly that you haven’t gotten a response yet.

I don’t see a lot of A5/S5 Sportbacks mentioned here; I assume there’s a reason for that. I don’t think the Sportback was included in the last round of the Costco program, either.

Also, check the Marketplace to get a sense of what a solid deal might be (assuming there are any S5 Sportbacks listed).

If the car isn’t leasing well and you are not in a rush, it’s unlikely that the programs will get worse in the latter half of the yr.

This is ~$820 a month effective.

9.1% is a decent discount, assuming this

is buy rate.

Are there no incentives?

Is it worth adding Audi Care for a 1% RV bump?

Yeah, I think the reason there are crickets on this car is that it’s not really “hackable” The deal @park012791 posted seems fair with a good money factor, but there’s nothing to get excited about.

There are no loaners, demos, or fat incentives on the hood of these things.

There is one very slightly used S5 Sportback Premium Plus in NJ. Maybe it’s worth saving a few thousand bucks to try and get this on a loan instead of lease. But it would mean driving this more than 36 months to make any sense of things.

Maybe the original dealer who is being targeted for the lease can drop the selling price $1k to match the list pricing on this used one? Such negotiation tactic is a @djrabbi special.

It looks like there’s a national $4,000 credit on S5 sportbacks, and I would wager that the dealer is using it in their “discount”. I’d expect this to be a pretty good deal with the original discount plus this incentive @park012791

Nobody knows.

FWIW broker deals were far superior in like Feb or March.

When I mentioned the $4000 nationwide credit to the dealer to see if that could be stacked he said that comes with interest rate of 9.24% instead of the 3.6% I am currently receiving. Not sure how legit that sounds but he said it’s one or the other

Thank you appreciate the take. The dealer claims the car is leasing well this month despite the lack of incentive/promotion. I guess he wouldn’t say otherwise. There isn’t really much postings on S5 and even though I don’t need the car until next month he wants a decision by end of the week

FWIW im looking at a similar P+ deal right now

36/10k
MSRP 69090
Selling Price 63217.3
(They claim 8% off + $1500 rebate for loyalty but that math doesnt work out)
63%
MF .00183 (just asked for .00153 i thought .00183 was base, oops)
$795/month including 9% tax, 2000 up front

$854/month zero drive off

Looking to get them to $800 zero drive off based on the factors i mentioned above

Yeah the audi dealers are telling me that too about the interest rate going up as part of the incentive. But your MF of .00153 is really incredible and way better than what they are offering me for Q3 (.0028)

You should be setting the timeline to benefit yourself, not the dealer.

anyway it’s obvious you’re not making any headway with this dude and that you won’t

what other makes & models are you open to?

I spoke to a local dealership today to compare prices and even though he told me he could not match the current deal he did tell me that there are new promos available through Audi? First month lease on them and $1000 credit based in zip. Have you heard anything similar?

Yes, I think this is an important question. Are you shopping the deal or the car?

It makes sense that the dealer wants a response by end of wk since that coincides w/ end of month (and who knows what the programs will look like in June). But that, of course, still doesn’t mean you should rush your decision.

I drive a BMW 330xi now and I wanted to go for M340 until I heard the price. I’ve always thought S5 was an amazing looking car with comparable features to M340 and the prices were actually better

I haven’t looked at M340 prices, but BMWs often lease better than do Audis…

If you are open to an EV, maybe taking a look at the i4?

I havent heard this. To your point about the m340, i drive a 330 m sport now and also looked. The m340 lease is dog shit for the same MSRP as the audi. We’re talking $900-1050 a month from the numbers ive got at base MF and discounts. Their MF is like 9% or something close. Maybe its less now, not sure, but the residual is 6% less than the Audi, which is what makes the big difference. Totally infeasible

I will add that an s5 refresh comes out next year. Not sure I care though

The only other semi decent leases for ICE sports sedans in the last 12 months were the Audi S3 and Genesis G70 3.3 IIRC.

Before anyone says the S3 is too small, the S5sb’s backseat is arguably worse.

You’ll get a lot more tech in the G70

The residual on the m340 is 57% for 10k per year with a 5% rate and a similar discount. Residual is the major difference.

sorry what do you mean by MF 0.00153 is a buy rate? no current incentives according to the dealer. how would adding audi care bring down my monthly cost? wouldn’t that do the opposite?

“Buy rate” is the lowest MF the dealer can apply to your deal. They can mark it up, with an upper limit. A marked-up MF eats into your discount because it makes the lease cost more (increases the rent charges).

This may be right, but please verify (using the Super Support calculator or by posting a request on the Edmunds forum for this year/make/model).

It adds 1% to the RV, which lowers the cost of the lease.

Audi Care will cover your maintenance for the term of the lease, which you’d otherwise have to pay OOP.

So you need to figure out what Audi Care costs vs. the savings on the least cost and paying maintenance OOP.
