Dealer says this is 16.82% off MSRP, but that bundles $5,250 in manufacturer rebates into their number. Actual dealer discount on the selling price is 9.3%.
What I’m looking for:
Is this competitive or is there more room on the selling price?
Ideally want 36/12K miles. What should the monthly look like?
Any brokers who can source an i4 xDrive40 to Minnesota with a stronger deal?
One where production has been cut by 80%, federal subsidy has been cut by 100%. Once you add in MN registration and tax rate and $700 is patently reasonable.
For reference, the i4 eDrive40 I had ~3 years ago was also a $699/mo payment.
I used a broker to get 13% off MSRP and put 5 MSDs to get the minimum MF. Although I paid for shipping, it was still a much better deal than my local FL dealer. Not sure where that $500 rebate came from, but I think you can count it into your MSRP discount. As far as I know, the current maximum rebate for 2026 i4 is $3750 (lease credit)+ $1000 (loyalty). My dealer didn’t eat that $500 @13% off so my total rebate was $4250.
MN registration is over $1,400 on the cheaper end (assuming no third-party agencies). Tax is on the depreciation. There are local rates in MN, so for his zip, the rate is 8.375%. Incentives are only $4,750 unless there is military/first responder, which wasn’t indicated on the form submission. He had reached out, but with a $600 budget.
I can probably have my dealership in IL pull one into stock for a little bit of a better discount. But is the budget $600 or $700, @erik_hinds?
9.75% here in LA and projected to go to 10% shortly. MN reg is actually quite a bit higher than CA (~$3K over 3 year lease on a $60K car vs ~2K in CA) but at least they have some of the best roads in the US as most of those fees go into real projects (Somali Learing Centers notwithstanding). At least it seems to be mostly ad valorem and is tax deductible in MN vs tiered N/D junk fees in CA.
Shockingly MN beats us on the insurance costs as well and their coverage is no-fault. We sadly more than make up all of that and then some on the HO insurance side.
