Seems quite high to me. I keep seeing folks getting a lot more off MSRP. Any suggestions? Do I just shop around for a better sale price? Dealer says X-Plan can’t be negotiated…
X-plan isn’t helping you here, you will get a better deal without it. You’re looking for a dealer discount of at least 9% and up to 12% off, which is easily done on the east coast, but I hear CA Ford dealers are tough.
Thanks! I’ll try going without X-Plan for a better deal.
Turns out 500 of the incentives is for skipping the charger install. If I don’t have a charger already, is it worth dropping the incentive? Seems like a good deal.
It depends. You can read more about the Ford power promise here- Ford Power Promise | EV Charging Solutions & Support | Ford.com - On the surface, if you don’t have a charger at home yet, and you can’t install it yourself, you could get more than $500 of value opting into the free charger and install. OTOH, only the simplest install is covered, and if exceed the “free” parameters, the company that does the install (Qmerit) tends to overcharge for excess work. In general, better to just to take the $500 and figure it out yourself, especiialy if you are handy.
many on here, myself included, suggest to not ask a dealer for quotes, send the dealer an offer based on your research, say you’ll execute the contract today or whenever you can, and then be ready to keep your word. Be prepared to send multiple dealers actual offers. Good luck.
