Deal Check: 24 VW Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition Purchase

Hi leasehackr Experts!

I’d like anyone and everyone’s thoughts on the following pending deal

24 Tiguan FWD Wolfsberg
Sticker includes sunroof, auto-dimming rearview, monster mats, privacy cover & destination charge - $34601

Dealer has come down to $31397 plus dealer fees of $1375 (pre-delivery and filing fees) before taxes and rebates. Thoughts?

Also, asking me to roll over negative equity on a lease because its better then just returning to VW and taking the risk of damage charges for a scuffed up rim.
Lease has a residual of $19284 and a final payment of $468 due. Will owe about $100 in mileage overage. So if returned to VW it would be $568 or so.
They’re offering me $19k in trade it but saying they need $19778 to pay it off. But I wouldn’t have to worry about potential damage charges for the rim or tires having low tread. Basically rolling $778 into financed amount. Should I just tell them I’ll take my chances with VW and pay the final month and miles? Thoughts?

Final, is a cost for the JM&A GAP Coverage of $18.25 a month (for a 5 yr loan) and JM&A Road Hazard at $17.05 a month (for 5 years) decent amounts?

Thanks in advance, appreciate everyone’s insight.

Can you get a pre-inspection to see how much the rim will cost you? I think the dealer “asking” you to sell the car to them, rather than just grounding the lease, is their way of clawing back the discount amount.

How much tread is left on the tires?

Inspections are scheduling about a week out at this point in my area. (yes, my fault for putting this off) Two of the tires have decent tread (replaced earlier this year–had to despite rotations–ugh) two of them not so much.
