Deal Check: 24' Ioniq 5 Limited AWD

I’ve been lurking for a few months now, as I attempt my first lease. As I compare signed deals, use the calculator, and read lots of threads here, I’m hoping for some feedback on the best deal I have so far:

Terms: 24/12
MSRP: $59,900
Sale Price: $56,400 (~5.8% off)
Rebates: $16,000 (14.5k lease, 1k comp, 500 personal)
Residual: $35,341
License Fees: $970
Doc Fees: $200
Cap Taxes: $493.50
Acq. Fee: $650
Adjusted Cap Cost: $43,132.29
Zero down.
Monthly Payment: $419

Calculator

I’ve plugged these numbers into the calculator and get close. I’ve asked for the money factor and breakdown of the taxes, but he said for them to do better, I need to come in.

This seems like a pretty good deal overall but I’m not familiar with the market in Oregon. Especially considering you haven’t visited the dealer yet!

Go make a post here asking for residual and money factor for your zip code to get the base rates:

Then you can tell if they’re marking up the money factor and ask for the base rate if your credit is 650+. They’ll mark it up .00001 if you let them.

If you don’t need the car for 24 months the best residual and likely best deal is on a 13 month lease fwiw.

I just got a Limited AWD near Portland for around $380/mo $0 down and I know they had another they were trying to move. I can refer you to the salesperson I used if you’d like.

Congratulations Cascadian, OR and WA are tough markets. Would be interested in finding out your deal numbers to add a helpful data point for others in your region.

Which color did you get?

I will post my numbers later. I got Cyber Gray.

Pulled the trigger today, thanks to Cascadian for the referral and info! I’ll add my deal to the signed section soon.

Hi,
Another Oregonian here. I’ve been lurking for month or so looking for info regarding leases in OR. Good to see others blazing a trail. I hope both of you can find time to post more details of your deals. I’m also interested in leasing an Ioniq 5 Limited, or possibly an EV6 Wind, so it would be useful to see what’s possible. Thanks!

Same here. I went to Beaverton Hyundai end up with a 5k down 280/mouth 24/12k deal on SEL AWD. I didn’t take it because I knew it could be better. If anyone knows any dealer accepts one payment please let me know, or any good sales and deals. Cheers!

Posted my signed deal here

Feel free to DM with questions, I’ll try to respond ASAP. :beers:

Not surprising based on my experience, which I’m not sure I should post here.

I’m in WA and looking for a good dealer with some inventory ready for a deal. Do you know if the place you mentioned still had some SE or SELs? Can you post the info or DM me?

I had better deals than that at Tonkin Gladstone Hyundai and Kendall in Vancouver. Check with both of those.

Still climbing the learning curve here, so I have a few incentive questions that I hope someone can answer. (My current vehicle is a 2006, so I don’t qualify for conquest.)

  • Is there only one level of aged inventory incentive? What I think I’ve seen is 1K for 180+ days. There are some Limiteds in the area that are 60+ days. Would there be any incentive on those?
  • How does one go about getting the $500 personal cash incentive? I’ve searched but I haven’t had any luck tracking this down.
  • Are there any Costco incentives that might apply to an Ioniq 5 lease?

Many thanks to pdxride. Seeing the actual contract was immensely helpful.

  1. Aged inventory: from what I saw, you’ll get the manufacturer incentive at 180 days, but dealers will be incentivized on anything at year end. The trick is to get the discount off MSRP, only legitimate fees, and the buy rate.

  2. You get the $500 Hyundai Personal Cash by submitting dealer requests through the hyundaiusa.com site.

  3. Yes, Costco sent me to Gladstone. They weren’t willing to budge on the money factor. One of the managers said they’ll give either a discount off MSRP or buy rate, but that they’re losing money on the deal. I think you could go let them negotiated down, then go in to work them a little further, I just wasn’t interested. They did have another $500 incentive to move the car that no one else offered. I asked another dealer about Costco incentive, but it was late in my negotiating, and moved on to my eventual deal.

Glad I can help, it’s been an interesting adventure the last couple weeks!

Another question for you regarding your deal:

Do the fees in your contract include Oregon registration and plates? If so, does this mean you don’t have to worry about registration at all since it’s a 2 year lease and Oregon registration is 2 years?

Thanks!

Yes. They estimated the registration, title, trip permit and plate fees at $900 based on my zip code. If it goes over, I pay the difference. If it’s under, they send me a check. Oregon has 2- and 4-year registrations, I forgot to ask which one they were doing. I asked for Blazer plates and the finance guy was trying to use the custom plate form, which isn’t the right way to do it. Fingers crossed the people that actually do that part will get it right.
