Deal Check: 2026 VW Tiguan SE R-Line

,

Rookie here - would be great to get everyone’s expertise if this is a good deal or if there is still room to negotiate on specific terms? Those fees seem on the high side, tried to get them to remove/offset the prep fee and brake plus, they aren’t budging.

you have a bunch of bogus fees

499.00 - Brake Plus

195.00 vehicle prep (should already be accounted for by the manufacturer)

The discount in Mass seems okish - The MF is marked up so the 10% is eaten up a little. Also there is a Customer Bonus Cash of $700 in that discount.

This is what it would be if you eliminated the bogus stuff above and had them add in the bonus cash as an additional and got them to base MF.

Hope this helps…

Thank you so much, i really appreciate you taking the time to respond!

Oh man, I keep going back to them on those two fees too, and VW said the brake plus is already installed on all their cars AND that quoted MF is their base. Negotiating this past week seems to just get me a reworked lease sheet with the same stuff moved around.

At this stage, can I just say, “please remove those two fees, confirm the base MF and add the customer bonus cash of $700” and mind if I share their response back?

It’s definitely not a VW ITEM. It’s pure profit for the dealer.
From a quick google search. Dealership add-on: Brake Plus is not a factory-made Volkswagen feature. Instead, it is an aftermarket device that local dealerships frequently add to their new and used vehicle inventory prior to sale. It is often bundled into a broader “Protection Package” with costs ranging between \(\$300 - \$700\) depending on the dealership.

I wouldn’t event bother back and forth. Make them a firm offer based off the calculator (don’t tell them the calculator use its number to drive to your number). Let them know if they can honor your deal you can be there x day/time to sign and would gladly give them a deposit. I personally am ok with the products as is with a target payment in mind to make up the difference. Some items and can be cancelled later. The delta between best deal and their offer is ~$40 bucks there are two thoughts a 0 DAS at the $420 with the products (lets them make a little) or $375 ish with the 2K DAS.

If the SUV is the SE then the rate in the Calc and yours is correct ( I mis understood trim) the non-subvented rate is 0.00313 according to rate finder and the SEL is different. I did see a broker advertisement non-mass for $350’ish unfortunately not many will do a Mass deal.

As a note I have used @Bostoncarconcierge as a Broker on a 3 deals for wife and my kid and he is awesome. I am not sure if he does VW (Audi yes VW not sure) could try him also. Happy to answer any questions us Mass folks gotta stick together.

Couldn’t agree more, thanks for helping a fellow bay stater try to save a few bucks. Saw that on google and tried to research as much as possible on here before getting the guts to post/ask. I actually reached out to Mike before talking to any dealerships, as I was dreading the runaround with these lease sheets. He also has been super responsive on his current deals.

Maybe my $0 down/36m/10k under $400/mo was unrealistic, but had to try! Thanks again!

You wont know unless you offer

Was this based on other deals/data to suggest that this was a realistic target?

A marked MF isn’t necessarily a problem, if the overall deal meets your target (assuming the target is realistic).

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure .00124 is the base MF for these in this region.

This looks pretty good minus the fees IMO

Did you get a copy of the window sticker? If it’s not on the sticker, it is a dealer BS add-on. Also, you’re chasing after the dealer and allowing them to control the deal. Bad idea!

??? Let me know.

This is why you make educated offers based on the math instead of accumulating quotes.
