Negotiating a 3-year 10k miles lease on 2026 BMW i5 xDrive 40 for my wife. Dealership adamant on MF being .00040 and will only allow 3 MSD to be applied. Not sure if this can be funded this way because to get to .00040 MF, MF would need to be marked up to .00058 to account for the .00018 discount from MSD. Buy rate is .00015 and 40-point mark-up would put it at .00055. I’ll see if I can get them to do allow more MSD, but if they won’t budge and I proceed, I may request to restructure for only 2 MSD, while still keeping the .00040 MF.
Doesn’t look bad by any means but I think 15% discount and buy rate on the lease might be possible for the right car at the right dealer, at least on leftover MY 2025 units. Also, one-pay could be your workaround for the MF markup and MSD issue if you have the funds available. Have you looked into the 24 month option, might also give you lower monthly cost than the 36 month option.
Just reached out and asked for the one-pay. They replied that they would still keep the MF markup at .00040. Are they able to do that? Thought BWMFS has cap at 40 basis point markup and one-pay would automatically reduce the MF by the deduction. Do we have anyone on this forum to validate if this is allowed?
@IAC_Scott Would you know if this is allowed? Reaching out as I see that you have previously provided good info on BMW lease.
Thank you for the information. This helped. I ended up going to another dealership and leased a 2025 i5 M60 that I’ll post the numbers for when I wake up in the morning.
