Thoughts on this deal? It’s a dealer loaner with almost 5000 miles. It has the Premium package, Front Heated & Ventilated seats, rear heated seats, professional package, etc. I did some research and asked for at least 15% off MSRP.
Throw numbers into a calculator for better overall assessment. Are you getting buy rate? Any adds? What rebates do you qualify for: loyalty/corp, grad, etc?
You should have started at 20% plus off but since you started at 15, try to dig in and ask for buy rate. Tell them you’ll sign today if they agree.
I had started negotiating with an i4 and this came after. They just ran with my original ask for the i4. I had done some research and saw 11-12% is the norm off but now I regret it. I threw it in the calculator and it’s saying 9.9 years. Should I ask for an additional $3000 off (20% off MSRP) or higher? I’ll sign ASAP if they cave. I have BMW Corporate Group Program
11-12% is the “norm” for the new cars, loaners should be discounted deeper. Tell them this payment exceeds your budget but you’ll do it at $XXX today - emphasis on you being ready, willing and able to do it ASAP on your terms.
Also see if they are willing to do MSDs as those typically save about 10% off the payment on the i5s which amounts to 12-13% annualized savings (need to confirm as I do not know this months program on a 26 i5 - again, having calculator would be helpful). Look up Multiple Security Deposits if not familiar with MSDs.
Ok just got them to shave off another $1500 and install brand new tires. New payment would be $645 all in sign and drive. Calculator says 10.3 years. I just might pull the trigger. Thoughts?
Have you checked the outcome with MSD’s like LAK1ngs suggested? If the savings are worth it, do them.
I looked it up and it’s only about a $7 a month savings per MSD. I’d rather sign and drive.
OP is clearly not willing or able to follow simple instructions as the calc is still nowhere to be found. ![]()
If each deposit saves $7 and MF permits max 10 deposits, that’s better than 10% savings monthly. Without a calculator, I am out.
Where have I not followed simple instructions? I literally went in to the calculator and got the information you suggested. I appreciate your help but not the attitude.
What he means is do max msd which is 10. Which should save you $70 per month. That should give you an idea for annual saving or returns for your MSD.
We typically ask people here to create a calculator for the deal in question and to click the “ Share Your Numbers “ button at the bottom of the calculator. It helps evaluate a deal for structure and potential savings while keeping all the numbers in one place.
As hackers we get a little skeptical when you could save $2520 over the course of the lease by doing MSD’s and you reply with: I’d rather sign and drive!
Seems like you could really improve the deal with MSD’s but your choosing not to for some as of yet, unknown reason.
I appreciate your kindness. I looked it up and with 10 MSDs it would be about a $62 a month savings coming out to about $2232 savings over the lease term for about $6000 in MSD. Again thank you for pointing out the option
Thank you for the explanation. I did not know about posting the link. Here it is. Calculator
I’m currently in a lease with a different brand so I’m trying to minimize the out of pocket overlap.
I’d sign this before it gets sniped and ends up in the lease transfers threads.
not enough meat on the bone
A little kindness goes a long way.
