I’m in the NYC area and received a cash offer for a new 2026 Acura MDX Technology Package SH-AWD. This is my first time negotiating a car purchase, and I’d appreciate your expert advice on whether this is a reasonable deal.

Here is the breakdown from the dealer:

  • Dealer Discount: -$3,845
  • List Price: $56,905
  • Employee Discount: -$100
  • Your Price (before taxes & fees): $56,805
  • Dealer Fees: +$175
  • Est. Government Taxes & Fees: +$$5,057 (NY Tax)
  • Your Price + Taxes & Fees (Out-the-Door): $62,037

I have a few questions for the community:

  1. Is a ~$3,845 dealer discount reasonable for this model in the current market?
  2. How much more room for negotiation do you think there is on the “Your Price”?
