His has 21s with low profile ultra summer tires. I wouldn’t choose bigger shoes than 20s. My XC60 has 21s and I despise them, been looking for take-offs to swap for the rest or the lease.
Brakes don’t seem to be an issue anymore especially in mild/plug-in hybrids (regen). Plenty to worry about when it’s out of warranty, wheels are likely the only concern before 4y/48k
Also IMHO suggest skipping the loaners, the aggravation wasn’t worth it on my V60.
