That bad, huh?
Get an E-tron GT instead pretty please.
I did test drive one, but the I found the UX frustrating and I didn’t like how it handled comparatively. I do have a deal being drawn up just in case, though.
I can get you into the same thing for 36,200 + Plates (I included MI tax in this)

I’ve been in market for a 2025 Taycan for about 6 weeks, I actually have a deal all but signed (deposit/credit app in, picking up in a few weeks, dealer removed vehicle from their website) and also currently have a Taycan. I’m about as knowledgeable on this vehicle as anyone.
IMO, the difference of .8-.9 seconds on the 0-60 isn’t worth the premium, but that’s my preference and ymmv.
In terms of the sale price, with a demo and that kind of mileage, you can def do much better. Within a few hours of posting, you already have a good broker beating it by thousands, your discount is okay at best, but nothing special at all. I found the color and packages I want on an MSRP of $130k (it’s base) and my sale price after discounts, dealer cash, and EV credits is sub $90k (added bonus obviously no disposition fee on my current Taycan), they did juice the already high PFS MF a little, but you can only win so many battles. My lease cost is about half of yours for an MSRP that’s just $16k less. I do believe the 4s RV is slightly less than the Base though. You actually have peaked my curiosity and I am going to see how much more I can save on a 1 pay.
With all of that, here is my advice:
F the Etron, this is a Porsche however you frame it and def has a much better cool factor than any Etron ever will.
Don’t do this deal.
Reach out to Scott above. He posted the best 911 deal I’ve seen on this forum less than a week ago. He already beats this by almost $5k and if I was betting, he’ll prob have others before months end.
Keep searching (possibly expand your radius a little), Porsche dealers are def motivated to get 2025 4s demos off the lot rn.
Do you tell yourself this to make you feel better about paying 50% more for a slower car? At 4.5 seconds to 60 on the base model I’d avoid racing an equinox if I were you.
Few things to unpack here:
I had an Etron, I hated the UI in Audi.
At 40, I have a wife and 2 sons that I support in all aspects. When I leave the house, they rely on me making it back in one piece. I have no need to race anyone, nor do I care one bit, those days are long behind me. 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and range on the 2025 well over 300 is all I need. If I wanted to go fast like that, I’d get a GTS or Turbo, the value is in the base imo. That’s what I told the OP and noted hmmv.
If I’m driving like an asshole with those aforementioned kids in the car (who aren’t that far away from driving on their own), I set an awful example and raise the next generation of garbage drivers.
You wouldn’t be able to find 5 people in an S Etron that I’m paying 50% more than, yet alone an RS, and certainly not the 25s. Maybe a handful of those stupid RS leases from 18 months ago, but most of those are prob coming due.
In summary, congrats on beating me off the line (really something to be proud of, huge accomplishment) and I’ll avoid racing an Equinox.
TLDR:
Porsche >>> Audi
That’s great advice, thank you. I’ve got one option to consider, but had a quick exchange with Scott yesterday (thanks Scott!) and if my backup doesn’t work out I’ll be using his services.
Some members on here make post that come off like they are a$$ holes. (I am not calling you that, but your post does have that feeling to it)
I mean….
How dare someone want to drive in a Porsche vs a faster Audi.
It’s all opinion based.
Let me remind you the MB eqs 580 sedan is way faster than a BMW i7 50 and depending on when the lease was done also less expensive.
Yet almost everyone would rather have the BMW.
Yes I know BMW and Mercedes aren’t the same builds like Audi and Porsche are but there is something to be said with wanting what you want.
Also the Porsche community is different.
There is a different feel you get when you walk into the Porsche dealership. The service you get with most dealers is better.. service when your car needs a repair is nicer. They make a lot of money per sale and can because they have clients who just keep coming back due to the experience they get.
Real Porsche drivers don’t think like this, which is why there is an Audi brand.
But Porsche over Audi all day long, on any car.
I agree with this, I’m prob a bad sample. A typical Porsche driver wants to go sideways, I just want to get from A to B in my Porsche.
Actually I think you probably fit in with the core demographic of Porsche drivers who pay the premium to enjoy the overall experience, not necessarily to street race.
Just giving @212hackr a hard time for the “F etron” comment. Probably came off a little harsher than intended. 9 times out of 10 I’d take a Porsche over an Audi myself. I just think the Taycan is a bad value proposition when there is a reasonable alternative. If you want a Porsche get a 911.
I came from a Rivian to a Taycan 4. Though the Riv is technically faster, the Taycan is much more fun to drive. Never driven an Etron GT so can’t really comment.
Went from a Taycan 4s to an rs gt last year. The 2 cars aren’t comparable. Even the 25 S GT most closely compares to a GTS Taycan, but the price points are very different.
From my experience, the drive is very similar, but the Taycan felt smoother, while the RS just has brute force. Infotainment is a wash because we all use carplay/android auto, anyway. I remember having severe issues w the rear camera, blind spot, etc in the porsche. I like that the audi is more understated, since I meet a lot of my clients and they see what I drive. The range is basically a wash - I get about 280 on a full charge w the RS, and about 290 in the 4s, all in dynamic mode.
OP - if you want to pay the premium for the badge, obviously, feel free. The cars are just about identical, have the same motors, batteries, etc. You can make an argument that one is porsche-tuned, and maybe that’s worth a premium. To me, it wasn’t.
I wouldn’t go into a thread where someone was questioning or asking advice on an Etron and say that.
He’s posting about a Taycan and asking for advice on a Taycan in the thread he created, someone mentioned Etron (which is fair), but you can read the skepticism in his response saying backup plan, I was simply validating that for him.
I think the 2025 Taycan is better looking than the Etron so that’s the end of the discussion for me, but I think a big part of the price premium for the Porch is that you can do paint to sample leather air vents and fuse boxes and whatnot, on the Audi you can choose between 3 different colored seats. If you are looking for a deal on a unit on the lot then you don’t really benefit from this tbh.
I’ve walked from the original deal. I now have a new one on a brand new 4S with over $12k more in options. Same terms, but $39k total payment. I like these options so I’m inclined to take it.
