sounds very fishy to me…have never seen a dealer hesitate with funding.

When you are dealing with an car under RV, the dealer knows it has a high chance of rejection
I’ve done it three times with no issue, most recently with an EquinoxEV. If they contract it correctly, it’s easily fundable.
Especially if it’s now been 5 days? Good grief.
Let’s not count Sat / Sun for a corporate office function to be complete. The documents also had to be sent from one state to another in which we presume it was Fed Ex / UPS overnight however may have been two day for all we know.
I sent the finance manager an email this morning and got no reply from her. I got an email about 20 minutes later from the sales guy and it was funded. Being delivered in about 20 minutes.
Post pics when you get it!
Congrats on the deal!
Congrats on the deal! I’m still trying to find a dealer willing to discount a 24 RST over 20%.
Congrats on the deal! I’m working a similar deal on a ‘25 loaner with 2000 miles. The dealer originally quoted me a one-pay that was effectively $220/month with $0 down including taxes.
They called me today and said they couldn’t honor the deal because the cap cost reductions brought it to the negative residual territory.
It looks like the way around this is to make a larger payment upfront to and get a “rebate” check back…am I reading that right?
Can you note my post above? You seem to know the way around the negative RV issue. I appreciate it in advance!
Paper the deal so it has at least $1 of positive amort. Then have them cut a check back to get the pmt back to agreed upon orig deal.
They marked up the cost of the deal by 7404 and increased the monthly payment. Handed me a check when I got the truck. Using that money to make payments.
Did you have to put the $5000 down that is listed in the deal? Or did they “comp” that?
Yeah I had the 5k down
OH. So my calculations that I gave you were wrong. If you had to give them $5K down (I thought those were reclassified rebates), then your effective monthly payment isn’t $160, it’s $369, as @carrot56 stated. So the discount wasn’t as great as originally thought.
I’ll delete my earlier reply, as it is incorrect for your deal.
Exactly as @Jimzigg stated. They can keep some of the rebate money off of the lease contract and handle it as a side transaction. Essentially they would be “cashing out” the excess rebates to you. That’s what you need to tell them to do. They should have no issue doing it.
Hey Team - I need a deal check asap. I need this looked at before tomorrow morning when I need to respond to the dealer.
2024 Silverado EV RST with 2k miles courtesy car
Is this a good deal?
The rebates are GM supplier, Costco, and GM courtesy car rebate. They said the $7,500 EV does not apply. Is that true?
GM accounts for the $7500 EV credit by increasing the residual value of the vehicle. The quoted “selling price” of $83,442 does you no favor nor does the $545 monthly payment. No, it is not a good deal.
I’m pushing for at least 18% off before rebates on 24s.
Good luck sending them to auction when the lease support ends.
