Deal Check: 2025 Polestar 3 Dual Motor with Pilot and Plus - Washington State

Hi folks,

First time leaser here. Polestar has a nice 20k of incentives for leases. Looking at a Polestar 3 dual motor with Pilot and Plus options. I believe the MSRP is $82k.

I tried to do the calculator but I wasn’t sure on a couple of things so I’m hoping some folks can help me suss out if this is a good deal or not.

Thanks for any insight you can provide!!!

This shows $5k of rebates, not $20k. Your effective payment is $957/mo, making this a terrible deal.

the MSRP of the vehicle is $82k the 15k is taken off as you can see the sale price is $67k. Also the monthly is showing $811.68 not $957 so I’m not sure where you get that number?

Divide the $3,942 by 27 months and add that $811. That’s your effective payment.

I don’t see the MSRP listed, only the sale price. If you’re correct that they gave you a $15k discount and then there’s $5k of rebates on top of that, an effective payment of over $950 doesn’t add up.

The MSRP of the vehicle is not listed you are correct, but it is $82k and after the $15k incentive the price is $67k which is what it shows on the screen capture. It’s confusing, but that’s the case. I’m not clear where the effective payment of $950 you are mentioning is coming from. Sorry, it must be some calculation you are making that I’m not sure how to calculate. Are you saying the $811 monthly payment listed is not what I’d actually pay per month and that in fact it is $950? If so OOF.

I think you are confusing monthly payment (the amount you pay each month for the lease) with the effective monthly payment (the amount of monthly payment plus your amount due at signing ((DAS)) divided by the length of the lease and added to your monthly amount.) Example: 12 month lease, monthly payment $100 and DAS $1300. DAS should include first month’s payment so at lease end your total amount paid is $1100 in monthly payments and $1300 DAS. $1100 + $1300 = $2400/12 (length of lease) and effective payment is $200 per month. If you put $2400 DAS in this example your monthly would be $0 but effective still $200 per month.

I see thanks COJeep. I think BigLebowski edited his reply to better explain that. That being said it sounds like this lease sucks? LOL

Oh yes, now I see that @BIgLebowski did explain the difference. :+1: I haven’t followed the Polestar leases but this looks awful. Good job asking BEFORE signing.

This would be in the $4xx range with a similar DAS on the east coast. For example

Looks standard. They sold the car at msrp. Polestar gave 20k of incentives. Your state has a double digit tax rate on lease payments (my state MA has 6.25% while nj/NY do interesting things). Through the brokers (I used autoninjas), we are seeing 10% discounts of msrp which is huge on a 27 month lease. I got a pilot/plus/nappa/21 (88.3 msrp) for 624 with 1250 due at signing on a 27/10k. That would be like 650/month with your tax rate.

Hi should get another 10k off the selling price before the rebates. That’s the going discount I believe.

Holy crap! How do I get those deals?!? HALP!

Reach out to the brokers on here. Several ship to Washington. You can get a $400 payment and just pay the $2k shipping (it’ll likely be cheaper, just using this as a ballpark)

Dealers in WA, OR, and CA don’t discount off of MSRP. I called several when this deal came out trying to save on shipping

You’ll never know unless you’ve made offers to 10+

Don’t ask for quotes

Did you end up going with a broker? If so, do you mind sharing whom and what sort of deal you got?
