Deal check : 2025 Mazda CX-90 Premium

Okay. Still bummed that the lease was quoted at $800, despite a 10% dealership discount. Something was fishy about it.

Also, vroom doesn’t exist anymore.

You get the idea. You may need to hit up a dozen dealerships so don’t dwell on one quote.

24 months is better than 36?

Guys, I just received the contract and would appreciate your feedback. Initially, we agreed on $2,700 off MSRP plus a $1,000 loyalty rebate, based on an MSRP of $48,875. However, the contract lists a different MSRP ($43,422.91) and a reduced discount ($2,301.27).

Ultimately, the sale price remains the same at approximately $46,1xx, but I’m concerned they may have removed some items or adjusted the deal differently. The residual value is listed as $27,370 (36 months/12k miles per year). I paid $2,400 DAS, and the monthly payment is $545.13.

Could you please confirm if I’m missing anything?

MSRP isn’t on here…there should be a breakdown of how they got to your gross cap cost somewhere…also use the calc here to verify your payment/DAS…but you are really doing opposite of what you should…you should know the discount you can get along with base MF and RV for your car/term and be able to create a target payment without even talking to a dealer.

The MSRP is not listed in the contract. The 43422.91 is the Gross Capitalized Cost which equals the Sell price (agreed upon value) + Capitalized fees. You didn’t provide page 2 and so, I have no idea what fees are capitalized other than the total capped fees = 2247.91 which likely includes the acquisition fee and sales tax. Sell price = 46175. Looks like your sales tax rate is 8.00%. Why did you cut off the top part? That has very important info. Just use a black marker to cover identifying info. I need to see page 2 or whichever page the gross cap is itemized. Your MF = .00033. In what state will the car be titled (garaged)? Important to know for tax calculation purposes.

I’ve attached both pages, but the MSRP isn’t listed anywhere.
If the contract omits this crucial information, please let me know—I have leverage and won’t sign it as is. I was initially rushing due to upcoming tariffs, but if the offer isn’t solid, I’m willing to take the risk with future car costs. I can comfortably wait another 3–6 months for a new vehicle.

What’s the car? You can figure out MSRP from the RV %

CX-90 Premium sport. Great point! With the RV=56%, I got MSRP=48,875 and its a correct value. Not sure why this info is missing in the contract

It’s not missing. MSRP is never there. Funny that I assumed 56% for the same MSRP.

It’s confusing.

Thanks for the updated contract. Now, I have enough info to do some real damage… here we go…

Sell price 46175.00
Capped Fees:
*Sales Tax 1568.48
Mazda Acq Fee 650.00
Title/license/Reg. fees 6.93
NYSI 10.00
Tire Fee 12.50
Gross Cap 48422.91
CCR 2301.27
Adj. Cap 46121.64
Term 36
MF .00033
Sales Tax Rate 8.00%

*Pre-tax Base Pay (PTBP): We need to deduct the 1568.48 tax, included in the gross cap, from the Adj. Cap to get 44553.10. This is used to compute the pre-tax base payment as shown below…

PTBP = .00033 x (44553.16 + 27370.00) + (44553.16 - 27370.00)/36 = 501.04

NY computes levies sales tax a bit differently than other states (except ILL) when it is capitalized in the lease. It is calculated as follows…

501.04 x 36 x [.08/(1-.08)] = 1568.48

If you’re interested in a detailed explanation, I can provide it.

Your post-tax base payment is calculated as follows…

.00033 x (46121.64 + 27370.00) + (46121.64 - 27370.00)/36 = 545.13

Because this payment captures the 1568.48 tax, it is also your contractual monthly payment shown on your lease contract.

Lease Inception Fees
1st payment 545.13
**CCR 2301.27
CCR Tax 184.10 … 8.00% x 2301.27
License/Reg. Fee 180.50
Deler Doc Fee 175.00
Doc Fee Tax 14.00 … 8.00% x 175
Total inception Fees 3400.00
Rebate Credit 1000.00
Due at Signing 2400.00

**The CCR is a calculated number. If you would like to see the calculation, I can provide it.

You and @Ursus calculated the MSRP based on the RV and RF.

Whether this is a good deal, I can’t say as I haven’t done the required research.

??? Let me know.

Is this a hackable trim? Last I checked only the PHEV CX90 was hackable.

It literally is not that easy unless you already have the full quote, which most of the time you won’t have unless you’re already ready to sign. It’s not very helpful.
