I went to the Autonation Chevy dealer today and this is what they offered:
2025 Chevy Equinox LT lease
MSRP is $30,148
The final price was about $31k due to wheel locks, tinted windows, and some dent protection.
I currently have a lease of a 2021 Acura ILX that ends in November. My buyout on it is currently $15k and AutoNation offered me $18k so about $3k in equity to trade my Acura in towards the Chevy.
The final offer they gave me was the following:
36-month lease/10k miles/$1,500 down payment/and current vehicle trade-in
Monthly payments = $430
I would really appreciate the feedback on this. Thank you!
Not a good deal. First of all they need to remove the AutoNation addons like tint, wheel locks and dent protection. Second get the trade as an equity check to you. Keep the two deals separate so you can see the actual price.
What is your target deal and why would you negotiate it in person, especially after youve already tainted the negotiations by starting them by presenting yourself as an uninformed customer?
Start over with putting together a well-researched target deal and then make offers to dealers you haven’t already spoiled the negotiations with.
