Working a 2025 Optiq Loaner. 24 months, 10,000 miles a year.
I only have conquest and costco executive. (No GM Supplier unfortunately)
Here’s where I’ve negotiated to.
$2,000 DAS drive off including TTL & First month payment (I asked twice to the manager to confirm), Pic says $222 a month, but as I was leaving the dealership, the salesman chased me down and said they could do $200 a month. $2000 DAS + $200/month = $283/month effective.
This is before $500 GM Card, as that I’m still debating if worth a hard pull on my credit.
Residual $47,039
Money Factor - 0.00145
There’s still a bunch of dealer add ons, totaling $2,094 (ETCH, Cadillac Pro-Pack, Paint Protection Film, Wheel Locks, Tint) which makes me think I can get lower.
Should I shoot for $1,000 DAS or even $500 with $200 a month? They claim those dealer add ons are already on the vehicle and have to charge it. They did lower it, they had $1,995 each for Cadillac Pro-Pack and Paint Protection initially and brought it down to $495 each.
Good lord, even with all those add ons they still have you at 11% off which I’m fairly sure is incredible on this car. That’s before they lowered it further to hit $200/month with $2,000 DAS. If I were you I’d be signing tonight.
It’s just I’ve seen people on here in TX get under $195 a month effective on one pays. So $283 a month effective compared to that and this loaner is higher mileage at 1,556 that I figured ~$240 a month effective mark should be doable.
Also I have a 2024 equinox ev rs at $150 a month lease at 24/12k miles and an older Ford, so a 3rd car is excessive so need a killer deal.
Rough math says you’re at 6600 for the lease term, without using Supplier or GM Card. Those are very strong numbers. For reference, in CA, I was at 5984 on a similar term but with $500 from GM Card and $1000 from GM Supplier.
How are they applying Costco Executive? That deal expired on the Optiq last month.
The salesman and the manager both asked me if I had Costco Executive, so not sure why they would ask me that if they knew we were walking about the Optiq already but either way whatever gets the numbers down works for me
Don’t get greedy. We’re now in October and dealers only have a limited number of vehicles they can apply the higher residual to. Also why aren’t you doing a one pay.
Those other deals you saw were they this month? Programs change from month to month so just because someone got it for X last month doesn’t mean you can replicate it this month. All you can do is try to mirror the dealer discount from previous deals then plug in current incentives/RV/MF etc.
That’s a pretty good deal, especially without a lot of the incentives available in previous months. Like others mentioned, I’d ask for onepay. I think you can get $6K onepay.
Can you explain how $500 from GM Card works? I just got a business version of it, but do you mean you earn 50,000 when putting your one-pay on this card? And you can immediately apply it to your lease?
Yes, salesperson has to generate the link for you to apply, and if you do get approved, dealership gets to use $500 rebated on it. Also, on top of that, if you put OnePay on the credit card you get (I think) either 7x or 10x points which can be used for accessories, future cars and few other things.
Unfortunately when they swtiched to barklays the option to use point towards outstanding balance or get gift cards went away.
I wish this was asked yesterday lol. I was on phone with sales rep and he’s never done a GM Card before and I asked him should I wait or just go online and apply now and he said go ahead and apply.
So I just searched GM card barclays and applied under my wife and was approved, and not through the link they needed to send me.
They said it’s the first time they did it without customer being in the dealership so they were confused. Now they are saying I have to apply via the link to get the code.
So I wasted a hard pull on my wifes credit for nothing. Partially my fault I should have researched on my end how to do the GM Card, but assuming a regular joe customer goes in how are they supposed to know it’s via a special link or QR code?
And I’m not going to do it under my credit because it’s not worth it for me for just $500 when I travel hack and I can open Travel CC and get a signup bonus that can book a First Class $10,000 flight with the points I get.
That stinks. I ran into an issue with the card and the F&I manager was able to remedy by speaking to their Barclay’s/GM contact. Perhaps it’s worth a shot to ask them to do the same, especially since they are the ones who directed you to just apply for the card.
Got the manager to bring it down a little more with one pay and will be signing tomorrow morning, from $6,600 ($2,000 DAS + $200/month) to $6,300 One Pay. I’m trying t see if they can get the $500 for the GM Card snafu fixed to get it to $5,800 or $241/month effective
Then shoutout to @baoknguyen for enlightening me about the TCEQ EV Rebate. If that goes through, it knocks off another $1666 to $4,134 or $172/monthly effective!
Now what to do with my 2024 Equinox EV RS that’s $150 a month on a 24/12k lease lol
