Deal Check - 2024 Mercedes Benz GLS450 - 7 Passenger [New Jersey, NJ]

No discounts from me in Colorado. Time of year doesn’t really effect the GLS, for us at least. Pretty easy to sell at sticker. Like @derekoh1991 mentioned, maybe $500 here and there or some accessories for local clients. $10,000 over sticker for out of state sales, mostly to cover any potential export chargebacks. (yes, people still do pay that.)

Completely anecdotal, but I was waiting to get my MIL a few days ago from the dentist and one of these 2024 GLS 450 (with the new grille) pulled up next to me. He had the Mercedes Benz Walnut Creek (Northern California) license plate frames. I asked him what he paid since we were looking for one. I lied; I just wanted to see what the pricing was to compare against our 2023 hehe.

He said he “got a deal” at $5k Over MSRP. BTW Walnut Creek has like 25 of these on the floor and they’re almost identically spec’d. These black on blacks with night package and AMG Line sell like hot cakes.

Imagine this, but without the Monroney.

GLS is one of the better looking vehicles in that segment. Why did they have to ruin it?

You mean why is the Norcal dealers are ordering them in black with night package + AMG Line to make these blobby/generic blackout builds?

Cuz people keep buying them lololol. It’s what the people wanttttt. The X7 in black with shadowline and M-sport are also the most prevalent.

And It’s the same reason the Black on Black Escalade Sports with Onyx Package still go for $20k ADM markups.

BTW, the profit the dealers make on these helps enable @oarfish18 's ridiculous pricing on EQS.

No, just the new grille.

Lololol.

I think MB is channeling their inner Ford Expedition. 4 lines is more than 2 lines… therefore better.

lol! we’re at MSRP currently on them. Maybe 1k off for local

Whoa… people ought to buy 2 at that price!

I think once you all end up with only 3 on the lot again the price is going back up. I have no clue how you all got so many 2024 delivered so fast.

we retail a lot of GLS lol. got 98 incoming EQB300’s

Explains why Mercedes announced they’re going to swap EQS SUV Alabama manufacturing to GLC EV… we know what you’ll be selling in 2026.

bumping this back up.

Anybody had luck on getting some type of % off on a '24 GLS450? I have a family member interested and had a handful of dealers have offered at MSRP/no addo ons with zero negotiation. You think 5% is doable on an order? As it would be optioned out almost entirely/$110k, is pretty much impossible to find on lot.

Just trying to see where things stand before I start helping her.

Oarfish18 said they were $1k off MSRP to locals in NorCal.

Maybe you can wait for @djrabbi to get his GLE63, get bored of it, then buy it slightly used off him.

If it ever comes out of the shop :new_moon_with_face::new_moon_with_face::new_moon_with_face: it’s going to be stuck in there till March/april

I was getting 10% off in a GLE450 last month. I actually have it as a loaner till my 63 is done

See, I was thinking this might be doable in the near future as well on a GLS. Market is softening everywhere. I think the fact that a lot of the '24 GLE/S models have just recently been seeping in has propped up values. I was quite surprised that we put out feelers to a handful of dealers yesterday/today and they all came back at MSRP from the get go, zero ADM (for GLS450). I was pricing out a GLE53 exactly 6 months ago and 75% of dealers were asking $5-$10k over. Granted, that’s technically an AMG coupe.

I’ve never negotiated prices as a factory order though, guess I’ll give it a go with my preferred dealer, worst they can say is no. I’m shooting for ~10%. Honestly, if I can find that, I would put in an order for myself too and cancel my current CBV XC90 Recharge after it arrives.

What in the hell is wrong with it for 100 days repair ? The MB dealer here has like 12 GLE63… maybe MBUSA can just trade you for one of those lol.

MBUSA is biggest joke. I don’t think I will buy another MB after this. They said we don’t cover loss of use.

Needs a new body harness which needs to be custom made takes 12-18 weeks to get and another 2-4 weeks for full install

Aren’t you in Florida? That car is a lemon at 30 days. Just get them to do a buyback before it’s lemoned (no lawyers) and put the money into a X7 M60 or something. They may also do a collateral exchange if you find another MB GLE stock unit to swap into.

Why do you think that MBUSA should be responsible? Involve the lawyer and call it a day.

Bummer.

Dealers care about their franchises…
But MBUSA cares about their brand and manufacturing.

A car that is destined for lemon is a liability to the manufacturer. So they used to just buy out the car or do a collateral swap before the slam dunk lemon case landed on their desk. This usually kept the buyer with the brand too.

Guess MB isn’t what it once was.
