Hello everyone, first time leaser here. Me and my wife are at a point where we want new vehicles every so often. So we believe leasing is the best option. I also want to make sure I’m getting a good deal. I’m not to familiar with how to negotiate leases I’ve been reading up a bit. i have $5000-$5500 to put down and would like my lease to be less than 525$ any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Start with negotiating a better discount.
Based on their numbers there is a significant money factor mark-up.
With their numbers in your zip code this should be $649/mo
If you can get them to knock $2500 off the car, you’re around $575 for your payment.
To get to $525, you’d need to get 10% off plus incentives.
Also, do not put any money down on a lease.
So the new quote I got with 0 money down was
$644/ mo.
You think I could get down to $575?
Your first step should always be putting together a target deal. You can not effectively negotiate without knowing where youre trying to get to.
Here’s the deal. We want new cars frequently. I am selling my current 2020 honda accord that has a payment of 405$ with 3 years remaining. I can profit $5500 by selling. We want to lease the next vehicle due to the high rates at the moment and because we will want another new vehicle in 3 years. The goal was to not go much higher than $150 over the current monthly. I can deal with being a bit over that. If i can get this monthly to below $580 mark will be happy and pocket my 5k. I just don’t want to be that guy that keeps pressing for lower.
Also to note that $644 is with nothing down no money DAS
