Deal Check 2024 JGC Limited L w/ Lux Tech II Purchase

Hello, I am in the market for a 2024 GC Limited L with Tech II pkg and have received pretty much the final offer from the dealership for Tech II only pkg - purchase/finance.
(L + tech II is a must, BLK appearance is optional)

MSRP is $52,625, Florida, with a 7% tax.
Trade-in is set to what I was expecting. I am not sure if I can try more for lower OTD. Cash is another option using equity (2.x % interest), but I know they need finance to make a profit so…

Any thoughts would be really appreciated!! Thank you for your time.

Are you open to any other brands?

Do you realize that 60-mo loan is nearly 11% interest?!

So market value is almost 3k more than msrp?

What incentives do you qualify for and what’s the actual discount?

3K over MSRP start?!, looks like they are taking advantage of you with trade too. What can you get from trade via Carmax, etc?

also, tons of fees too!

This is the model my wife really wants to get this time, so I don’t think we do have any other brands in mind.

Yes, like 9.5k just for the interest, they said this 60mo is with 5.2% APR with 790+ credit.

All the dealers in Florida, at least CDJR dealers… have this unknown dealership advantage markup of $ 3-3.5k added in the value, which I tried to argue, and they said it would be there no matter where I go.

I checked other dealers, and they actually have this under the “Disclaimer” at the bottom of the page with a tiny font size…saying, “excluded dealer advantage package of 3k”.

The selling price is 7k lower than MSRP, but the markup fee + other fees + high interest get them a huge profit, it looks, and I would end up paying $58,120 with 60 mo with my trade. This is basically MSRP + 6K. with finance.

Guess this is not a good deal. I offered lower and walked away anyway for now. =/

You should probably have a real conversation about why you’d spend so much when competing products are more like $45k and better APR.

And retain value better.

You’ll see a ton of savings both monthly as well as over the life cycle with higher trade values when you go to replace it.

I agree; I could get something better with other brands, maybe. I will talk and consider looking at other brands, too. Thank you.

Offered lower based on what reasoning? What was your target payment/DAS? What trade equity (should take this out as a check back instead) did you apply and how did you come up with that?

My initial plan was to get OTD before trade, as of 40k. They didn’t say no immediately but ended up with a higher number. Also, they didn’t have the car in their lot. Have to trade with other dealerships.

Why can’t you shop out of state? We got our Grand Cherokee 4xe from a neighboring state, because of BS like this where we live.

Oh, SORRY, this looks like a finance deal…put your VIN in Carmax, etc online and see what they give you at least.

If their rate is high just pay it off next day or refinance with any better rate you can find.

And definitely shop out of state and heed Max advice on vehicles that retain value better.

I got my current lease from D.C. and my EV for commuting from Chicago because of markups and had a much better deal here with brokers. My wife wants to keep the JGC this time for 5+ years, and that’s why I am looking into purchasing. Perhaps I could get a better deal with a lease + buyout.

I learned a lot from here, and I really appreciate all of your time, everyone.
I’ve been trying to get some nice deals by myself in the local area, but it looks like I’m back in the starting line again.
