Deal Check: 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL AWD - $10,200 1pay - 24m / 12k (NY)

I don’t care much about features although I will be driving through some snow (Kingston, NY) so AWD is a plus. Really I’m looking for the lowest total cost to lease an EV with 250mi range and reasonably fast charging. Bummer the Niro deals seem to be gone.

Anyway, I’m interested in your thoughts. Free L2 charger through Hyundai right now. It’s an upfront payment only (“+$60-90/month for payments.”) Includes all taxes and fees for NY.

Apparently the deal is changing tomorrow…who knows for better or worse.

Let me know any similar deals to check out!

Do you qualify for conquest?

TBH I prefer a RWD car with great tires vs an AWD with mediocre stock tires

I actually haven’t had a car in ten years! But finally escaping NYC for upstate. Conquest is a discount for switching from another manufacturer, right?

And great to know about RWD vs AWD. I’m very unexperienced in this area so open to any and all advice… Any specific tires or reading materials you recommend? Thanks so much for the reply!

Tirerack.com has multiple tests on their website showing the same car on various tires. The key metric IMO is braking distance in snow (shorter for dedicated winter tires than AS). Anyone can get moving using AWD but it doesn’t help you stop — if anything the false confidence makes it worse.

I’ve used General Arctic, Bridgestone Blizzak and Michelin Alpin over the years. They’ve all been great. The Generals were an amazing value the last time I bought them.
