Deal Check - 2023 Yukon XL SLT 4wD (NY)

,

~UPDATED~

Wanted to get your thoughts on pricing here? Trying to close deal.

-NEW DEAL:
New Deal with a new dealership that was taking Supplier.

MSRP is $76,190.
OTD with tax title fees is $79,723.

Seems like they are straight foward on the pricing unlike the other dealership but I wanted to confirm with you guys.

-OLD DEAL:
VIN Etch was never included in my original request for a price breakdown.
Dealer Doc and Motor Vehicle Reg seem very high (dealer located in NJ).
What do you guys think?

Price breakdown:

  • 2023 Yukon XL SLT 4wD (NY)
  • MSRP: $78,990
  • Selling Price: $78,490
  • VIN Etch: $399
  • Dealer Documentation Fee: $799
  • Motor Vehicle Registration: $465.20
  • NY Sales Tax: $6,877.07

Total: $87,030.27

Dealer would not accept my Supplier Discount due to “high demand”. They did honor the GM First Responder Discount which gets me -$500, but per the GM Program Rules (see terms below) I believe the Doc Fee should be $75. Right?

GM First Responder Program Terms (Documentation Fees):
Dealers will be permitted to assess a maximum of $75 in documentation fees, except when:
• A documentation fee is specified in the applicable state law
AND
• Your dealership charges all customers the same documentation fee (excluding all customers purchasing under
the GM Employee, Military, First Responder, Healthcare Professionals, Executive Referral and Dealership
Employee Programs).~~

Have you checked marketplace? You shouldn’t pay for BS add on, not sure about market for these

The terms state that they don’t have to charge $75 if they charge everyone the same doc fee. Maybe see if you can push them on that, would make the “deal” a little better. Hard to say on these since I believe that they are hard to get at the moment. Even in better days it’s not like the big boy full size GM SUVs were getting crazy discounts all the time.

Build it on the suppler website. Should be close to 5k below MSRP. Move on from this dealer. If you can wait a few months ask them if they will apply the code to a build.

From my understanding the max doc fee they can charge is $75. The only time they cannot is when both the following conditions are true:
1)the doc fee is capped by law
AND
2)they charge everyone the same doc fee.

Looks like NJ doesnt cap their doc fee. This means the 1st condition is not met. This means they cant make an exception which would allow them to charge above a max $75 doc fee.

I believe in practice it’s either/or. It’s poorly worded. If the dealership has a state mandated/capped doc fee, of course they are charging everyone the same doc fee. That being said, I have received the $75.00 fee from an NJ dealer using a supplier code before. They could do it if they wanted to.

Good to know. Thanks!

Just an FYI the Supplier Discount terms for the DOC Fee are similar only difference is they change the “AND” to and “OR”

Only thing holding me up from locking it in is the color “Metallic Rush Titanium”. Not really the color I wanted since it looks like its a little purple on youtube. I havent seen this color in person.

They have the same exact spec in Onyx Black which is “In Transit”. Anyone know how long that usually takes to arrive to the dealer?

I’d ask the the dealer on the ETA, otherwise looks like a good deal in this market. I just signed on a Suburban Premier at MSRP minus $3350 in combined rebates and GM card rewards. I hesitate to even post the deal but will since there are so few reference points.
