I’m looking at moving into a 2023 Chevy Traverse RS. Trying to do this all via email/text/phone and finding dealers crazy unmotivated to actually work on things. This is not my first lease, but it is the first in the post-COVID times.
Trying for:
36mo and 15k/yr (58% residual)
I’ve attached a copy of what they sent me this afternoon. First crack at the numbers appears like they’ve boosted the MF (should be 0.00220) and certainly didn’t discount the vehicle at all. Any thoughts how to proceed or is this just how things are now? Appreciate any help in advance and let me know if I’ve missed any info that would be useful.
I suspect the lease program for this car is just not good. Specifically the MF must be insanely high. So even if you got a 10% discount on the seling price you’re still looking at a $700 payment which for a $45k msrp unremarkable car is really bad.
At any given time there are only a handful of vehicles that have the bank’s support to even theoretically lease well, before we begin to discuss how much the dealer can budge for you.
Without that support it’s futile talking to a dealer or expecting anything better than ghastly outcomes.
Right, that’s possible. My expected value was a MF was 0.00220. Not sure if that’s good or bad at this point in time. Can’t remember what it was on our last lease in spring 2019. I know the payment then was about 1% of MSRP. This ain’t that.
Is there a particular reason you are “moving into” a Traverse? There are other options in the segment and mot likely every single one of them leases better.
This is my wife’s vehicle and what she prefers in the segment. We’re in a 2019 version right now. I’ve tried a few other vehicles to get her interested in, but no dice. Needs a 3rd row that’s not huge with decent space. Just prefers this iteration of it.
I tried on an RS for my wife a few months ago but had no luck. They just don’t lease well. We ended up going with a loaded Highlander platinum for less then. 650 effective.
I think it’s a better vehicle than the Chevy and had better programs at the time.
