Deal Check | 2022 Outback 2.5 premium 36/10k

Please help me review the deal from Subaru. I am in the Bay area, Zipcode: 94403

This is my first time leasing and I am still trying to figure out how these numbers work. To be honest, I just want a car to run errands, not going to travel a lot. I only care about safety and price. So I first looked into Legacy, but the inventory is low and the price is even higher than some SUVs. So I decided to go for Outback since the inventory looks better. But any other suggestion would be appreciated!

I would prefer to pay less than $350 a month (incl. tax), but lower would be better, not sure if it could happen.

Here is the number I got:

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts and also suggestions about how to negotiate for a better deal! Thank you!

I’ll wait for the guy with the copypasta on how to actually use this site shows up.

5.4% off MSRP seems like a solid deal in this market. It doesn’t seem like there are any F&I add-ons with this deal, or any markup on the money factor (buy rate is .00155). Looks good to me.

To get to $350/month with tax, you’d need another $2,000+ off MSRP, which is extremely unlikely.

I’d try to get Subaru VIP pricing. 2% under invoice.

Instead of this approach I’d start looking through the relevant subforums to find out which vehicles are really worth targeting.

Most cars do not lease well. This is truer now than it has ever been. Which means you cannot start your search with a particular car or cars in mind, and then find a way to make them lease well.

It will be like pushing a boulder uphill while pulling teeth, and you’ll still probably have a bad deal in the end. You need to start your search by filtering only the vehicles that are leasing well right now and offer good value per dollar.

Check out the “Share a Deal” and “Marketplace” sections of LH forums to decide what’s leasing well and pick a vehicle that is already proven to offer good value.

Remember, there are no magic wands that can save a deal from poor programs (RV, MF, and incentives) and/or poor discounts.

@Jianan_Liu , reach out to your local Subaru Ambassador for discount coupon which is worth of $500. But don’t tell the dealer until you finalize the sale price, so you can deduce $500 more from your bargain rate.

Thanks! I’d like to try this approach and see if I could find something better
