First lease here and want to check if this is a good deal.
2021 Mercedes GLA 250 FWD + premium & drive assistance package + heated & ventilated front seats and pano sunroof + ambient lighting + garage door opener

We are trading in a financed vehicle (2017 Buick encore) they’re giving us 12k trade in (8.6k left to clear title)

**Dealer is asking for $455/month for 12k miles 36 months **
1.5k DAS + DMV + Trade In

no significant incentives but dealer offered sales tax of 1.5% instead of 6.25%.

Is this a good deal?

I’m an novice when it comes to evaluating a deal BUT how can a dealer reduce your Sales Tax ?? Sounds like trouble

In texas, dealers occasionally have tax credits available for this purpose. It’s legit

You really need to break the deal out to evaluate it properly. With that said, you’re sitting at about $600/mo for a gla. That’s a lot of money for a gla.

So if you are positive equity on the trade, you’re putting down $5k for a $455/mth lease on a $41k car? Something seems off. That’s expensive, almost next level so on that car.

Yea, deal seems awful, but hard to analyze without all the details like MF, RV, etc.

In TX, does a tax credit come out of the dealer’s pocket or is it an “incentive” from the state or manufacturer?

If it doesn’t come out of the dealer’s pocket, then they’re not discounting the car at all. Terrible.

At the very least, don’t use all of the $3400 trade equity as down payment. A big no no. Use trade equity to cover DAS and get the dealer to cut you a check for the balance.

I am new to TX so i dont know the answer to the tax credit question.

On Edmunds i got the following

.00105 MF and 59% residual
$750 dealer incentive

Will be reaching out to the dealer to get more information to break it out further. I have picked up the car yet because they did not in inventory, but did put 1K deposit.

MSRP is $43,335

What is a decent deal to pay on this car with the trade in?

No one here has every region, manufacturer, model, trim, RV, MF, incentive in their heads, nor do they know which incentives you qualify for, nor do we know what your trade is worth.

So far you’ve only posted a lease deal with no dealer discount, which fails the smell test.

Look at some GLA deals from brokers in December for a place to start, and get estimates from Vroom, Carvana, Shift, etc. for an idea of what your trade is worth.

Edmunds has the MF, RV and incentives for the car. Post a request with your term and zip code in the 2021 GLA forum.

Keep the trade separate until you know what a great lease deal on the GLA looks like without the trade.

Most cars do not lease well. This is truer now than it has ever been.

So unless you are willing to push this boulder uphill, you need to look at other makes/models that lease better and offer more value per dollar.
