So no tax advantage to leasing, youâd need to pay the acquisition fee, and have a higher interest rate with leasing. Purchasing sure sounds like it may make a lot more financial sense here.
Gotcha, thank you so much. What if the 2.79% financing is not available and its 4%? Would it then be better to lease? I am asking because Edmunds didnât post the 2.79% financing offer but some other websites have it listed there.
The edmunds forum where you ask for rv/mf/incentives is for leasing. I wouldnât expect them to list purchase financing rates.
You check the Mb club of america incentive?
Also from my minimal research RV looks to be better with MB than BMW so that could offset your MSRP discount
Iâm from the Boston area and Iâm getting the same run around for the GLE53 AMG. Doesnât seem like any of the dealers in my area are interested in selling a penny less than MSRP. Iâve had multiple experiences where I or a family member purchased a Mercedes (not AMG though) for around 15% off MSRP. To be fair, yes this is an AMG and yea it is brand new for 2021 with limited production mainly because of corona. All the dealers in my area have told me theyâve been selling them at MSRP which I find a little hard to believe. I went to look at comparable X5 as well and BMW without any negotiations already discounted 5%. With negotiation I could easily get an X5 with 10% or more off MSRP. For the AMG they shut me down instantly when I asked for 10% off MSRP even though weâve bought multiple cars from their dealership. I was told for custom orders MSRP only, for cars on the lot the best they could do is 3-4%. Seems like it might be a waiting game but who knows when production will ramp up and what the state of the economy will be then.
The GLE 53 is technically an AMG vehicle. AMG vehicles do not lease well and they do not have incentives or much discounts on them. You may have to reach out to other dealerships a little outside of your area. The GLE right now is Mercedesâ #1 selling car and everyone is buying them up which is why they are not willing to discount them much.
For the 15% off thing, that is not as realistic anymore due to the Rona, unless you are shopping for a demo/loaner car. For my current Benz lease (E300) I was around 14% off but now it is much harder to do. I have GLE 350 on order and right now iâm maxed out at 12.6% post rebates.
Also for X5s they do discount them but not by much. The highest discount on an X5 I was able to get was around 6-7% pre-rebates and they did not want to budge, and the RV on those are worst than the comparable GLE.
Unless you are willing to call more dealers across an ever-increasing radius, thatâs the reality you live in.
Except for those willing to travel or ship, all auto sales are local.
