Deal Check: 2021 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition AWD (non turbo)

Hi all, thanks in advance. New member here so please correct me if I’m making errors.

Trying to get a carbon with red seats in a rural area of NC, stock is low so it has been tricky but have had some success in negotiating. Here’s my current best negotiated deal for a purchase and I’m trying to see what I should aim for if I choose to go for a lease instead:

MSRP - 31530
Discount - 2417 (7.7%)
Net Sell - 29,113
Fees - 794 (649 doc, 145 TTL etc)
Tax - 893
TOTAL - 30,800

I’ve got another dealer who offered 30,500 OTD but i don’t have that one itemized yet, it was over text. I’ve searched the forums and haven’t found many threads on these carbon editions so I’ll take any and all advice please.

For ballparking a lease, I used the calculator based on the buy quote above, assuming +1000 (lose financing incentive) and -300 (to match the lower deal offer) for a net of +700 to the above buy quote. I just adjusted this in the selling price line. MF .00048 / R 61% and I’d prefer 12k/36

If I ended up with the below numbers in the calc for a lease, would this be a fair deal? I don’t need the best possible price, happy to settle at just good/avg, just don’t want to be getting totally ripped off.

Thanks!!

You’re probably not getting ripped off but IDK why you’d wanna pay this much for this car.

Small discount, no lease incentives, does it not make sense to buy? Especially if they offer low interest rate for financing.

Thats where I landed with the CX5 as well. It was ok, but the non-turbo felt underpowered and the price wasn’t that much cheaper than a base T4 XC40 or the like.
