Deal Check: 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

Hey guys, looking for your input here.

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4
Lux II Package
Trailer Tow Package
20" Rim upgrade

MSRP: $50650
Sale price: $49,400
Monthly Payment: $491
Drive-Off Amount: $2,611.63
Months: 42
Annual Mileage:15,000
MF: .00058
Residual: 51%
Incentives: $4660.00
Region: NY

I realize the dealer discount is weak. I haven’t countered yet. I’m not sure if I should push for more off the MSRP or throw out a monthly number like $450 but say I want 15,000 miles a year. I’m moving to Texas in 6 months so don’t know how many miles I’ll wind up driving a year.

I also have a $1500 bonus cash offer from Jeep but don’t know if that will stack.

Any advice on how to proceed?

What was your target pre-incentive price on this before reaching out to the dealer?

Based on what I’ve read here, 7% off invoice so 10% off MSRP. That would give me a target of $45585.

However I didn’t lead with a target selling price (which I probably should have), I asked for their selling price pre incentive and rebates. He came back with the $49400 number.

I’ve got a similar question on this one as well…

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4
Lux II Package
Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof
Trailer Tow Package
20" Rim upgrade

MSRP (or DSRP as the dealer shows): $55,265
Sale Price: $52,998
Monthly pymt (tax incl): $650
Drive-off: $4000
Months: 48
Annual Mileage: 10k
MF: TBD
Residual: TBD
Incentives: TBD, but maybe $1k

What can I do?

Nothing, except run away.

That bad, huh?! :sob:

is it worth pushing back on the length of the lease? down payment?

First off you don’t know your incentives. Go to Edmunds.com and FIND THEM.
Otherwise the dealer will steal them.

4k down and still at 650…ugh.

Appreciate the feedback. Will check it out…

It is practically impossible for us to tell you what a “good” monthly payment is for your specific lease as lease programs are highly dependent on region, personal qualifications, tax rates, etc.

We always recommend the following method before you ever contact a dealership. If you do all of the work up front, you’ll have a stress free dealer experience and set yourself for success.

  1. Read Leasing 101 (EDITORIAL | LEASEHACKR) to understand how to calculate a lease payment and the variables. Monthly payment is an output, not an input!! While you’re at it, be sure to watch the LH video (How to Use Leasehackr - YouTube) to brush up on how to most efficiently use the resources here.
  2. Pick a specific vehicle that you want to target
  3. Gather the current MF, RV and incentives from the LH Calculator - Lease Program Query or Edmunds forums for your zip code
  4. Research the LH marketplace and other deals that have been made recently on your vehicle - what was their pre-incentive discount? How did their lease terms differ?
  5. Plug your numbers into the LH calculator (CALCULATOR | LEASEHACKR), and use a pre-incentive discount similar to what you have seen
  6. Create a target deal, this is what you’re trying to negotiate to. You can try different terms, selling price discount, etc. and see how your monthly payment is affected. It is also possible that different trims of your vehicle may have different MF and RV (i.e. this is very common with GM), so make sure that you look into that. Come up with a set of inputs that give you the output that you want - your desired monthly payment.

With a target price determined, you now have a deal to pursue and compare dealer offers against. More importantly, you have a solid foundation to work from.
