Seems very steep compared to a Tacoma or Tundra unless I’m missing something about the ZR2 package. You could have two Tacomas for this monthly payment

I don’t believe it was necessarily on purpose as I think I am dealing with someone relatively new. They had originally said it was 62%. So i politely replied (it’s been all via email) and clarified that my lease would be 10k miles/year and the residual she provided was for 12k miles a year.

Got it. Really a 3% jump there? Seems pretty high for going between 10 and 12k

GM Financial is only a 1% difference between 10k and 12k

It’s definitely a unique trim package. Similarly priced to the most expensive Tacoma TRD PRO. I prefer the ZR2 but if it were possible to find a TRD Pro for under $400 I would definitely consider that. I have Toyota dealer a mile away from my house, maybe I’ll stop in.

Then I am not sure why she first told me 62%. But she’d also typed that the MF was .0168 and I had to correct on that being .00168 as well. It could have been a simple mistake over email, or she could be new, it’s hard to say. But thanks for providing me with that information.

Yeah, as the other hackr noted, the residual should only be a 1% difference. I never checked the residual on the 12k, I just assumed she had provided the wrong information and was trying to be polite via email and suggest she may have misunderstood me. The more flies with honey trope I guess.

At this point, if they’ve hit the marks that GM is offering on MF and Residual, is the only real bargaining chip the discount off MSRP?

You can have a Tundra for around 250

You’re probably around the payment that people would be paying for a Tacoma PRO.

Yes, if you’re at base MF, the only thing left is selling price and negotiating any dealer mark ups such as added accessories or dealer “fees”.

Thank you! I really appreciate the info. The Tacoma PRO is really the only other vehicle I was considering and I simply prefer the ZR2 Colorado.

The added accessories comment gave me an idea…I think I’ll try to get them to mount the spare tire in the bed at no charge. I know it’s a dumb accessory to like, but I do for some reason.

As far as price, have you all found that the price one could purchase the car for is generally similar to the price the dealer could use in calculating the lease? I ask because another dealer close by is advertising a sales price of $38k. MSRP of the two trucks is within $500. The difference is literally floor mats. However, the other dealer has been a bear to deal with via email as they won’t even provide a starting quote. I wasn’t planning on going there, but if they’d honor the advertised price and hit the marks on MF and residual the monthly payment would come down to $400

PS: I Just saw you are an ER nurse…much respect. I’m a firefighter/medic here in IL…Stay Safe!

Typically lease incentives and purchase incentives are two different amounts provided by the manufacturer. Check the incentives on Edmunds or Truecar…the 38k price most likely includes all incentives including ones that you may not qualify for. I wouldn’t count on the lease price and the purchase price being the same in this scenario.

Is this the Bison?

Stay safe my friend! Love our medics and EMTs. Doesn’t get more front line than our EMS workers.

Ok thanks, that’s good to know and very helpful. I really appreciate it.
When I got the MF and residual from Edmunds they noted there weren’t any incentives. Are they usually accurate or should I also check with Truecar?

No this isn’t the Bison, I looked at both and preferred the logo and accessories of the regular ZR2. Plus, the Bison adds a couple grand. And if I need the extra skid plates the Bison has that means I’ve taken a serious accidental detour.

Edmunds is typically accurate and I didn’t mean to imply otherwise. If it isn’t the Bison then I would say an apples to apples comparison would a TRD offroad Tacoma and not the Pro then.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record on this forum, myself and several others recently signed TRD Offroad Tacoma’s with MSRP of 44 +/- and ended up in the $300 month range. Obviously it’ll be your vehicle though. For what it’s worth I do think the Colorado is a good looking truck.

Appreciate everything you guys on the frontline do for us!

Oh I didn’t take it that way, sorry. I just sometimes obsess over getting all the information I can.

I’m starting to get swayed toward checking out the Tacoma deals near me…especially at those payments. It’d be hard to turn that down. I do like it and I’m grateful for all for all the information and advice everyone has provided. What a great community.

Thanks, but It’s my pleasure, honestly.
