Deal Build Check: 2024 Honda Prologue Elite in TX <$400/m unrealistic?

, , ,

Revised my target deal(s) for a Honda Prologue (24/10) for <$300. Am I being unrealistic?

Target Deal: 289/m pre-tax (305 effective) - Calculator
Target Deal (w/ One Pay): 247 effective - Calculator

  • MSRP: $59,750 (Elite Trim)
  • Selling Price: $50,788 (15%)
  • Incentives: $12,500
  • RV: $33,460
  • Depreciation: $5,423
  • Rent Charge: $1,511
  • Pre-Tax Monthly: $289
  • Acquisition Fee: $595
  • Taxes: $383 (not sure if I did this correctly for Texas)
  • Effective Monthly: $305

Edmunds pulled the following for a 24/10k mile lease in my area (Dallas, Texas):

- 24 month / 10k miles
- MF: 0.00087 MF
- RV: 56% / $33,460
- $2000 Captive Lease Offer exp. 10/31/2024
- $3000 Dealer Lease Finance Offer exp. 10/31/2024
- $7500 EV Tax Credit

Also found these comparables for reference:
- $375 monthly signed 36/12 contract for an Elite in OR
- $423 monthly signed 36/12 contract for an Elite in MA (and calculator)
- $237 monthly signed 36/10 contract for a Touring in OR (and calculator)

Trying to get my numbers accurate first, but any tips on approaching Honda dealers in DFW are welcome. I might consider a Chevy Blazer/Equinox EV as those lease deals look fantastic, too.

Thanks all. Really neat community.

Updated my OP with more detailed target lease deal and calculator. Likely may send this to a few General Managers over weekend and see if I get any response.

Do you know that Honda is doing tax credits on these right now?

If they are, i would expect either no taxes or more like $650 in taxes.

I’m not sure if any tax credits are available. I believe my calculator assumes they do, but if not I’d need to increase the Sales Tax rate. I don’t have a solid understanding of how that works in Texas.

Perhaps I shouldn’t follow this thread because I may just find myself disappointed with the deal. I signed last week.

Honda Elite ($59,750 MSRP) $440/mo, 36/12 sign and drive. Honda also made my first month payment so effectively my payment is $427.78.

There was an additional $1000 in rebates I didn’t qualify for (new grad $500 and military $500) and I am certain there was still a little left on my deal. So had all the stars aligned, I probably could’ve seen a sub $400/mo payment.

Granted, I haven’t clicked the links you posted as benchmarks. Do they show 15% before incentives being attainable?

They do not.

The 15% markdown on MSRP is aspirational. That and the taxes are assumed by me. Not sure if realistic and open to feedback!

This is my target deal, currently. It might be too aggressive and I’m in no hurry. I don’t have a few for how Prologues are doing in my area/dealers.

What do you think? Congrats on your new vehicle.

What is your area? Based on my experience location means everything when it comes to leasing deals.

I can only base your expectations on my locale. I think you’d be hard-pressed to sign a zero down 36 month under $400 where I’m located unless you signed it with low mileage and incorporated every rebate available. This, of course, on an Elite trim. You can sign sub under $400 all day long on an EX.

The wider your radius and the longer you’re willing to wait for month/qtr/year-end desperation, the higher your chances.

Did you get your aspirational deal?
