Are we allowed to install dash cam on car by ourself ? Is it against lease rule ? Any inputs are welcome. Thought of saving couple of hundreds before going to dealership.

Yes you are, hardwired or cig. lighter adapter.

I used an Insta360 dash cam in my leased car without any issues. It sticks right to the windshield and runs off the 12V socket, so there’s no need to hardwire or mess with the wiring. Returned the car with everything removed and no trace left behind. Insta360 has solid video quality too, which helped when someone bumped my bumper in a parking lot and tried to take off.

I’ve used Blackvue on all my leased cars. Hardwired to get video when parked in the wild.
