Curious - do you target dealers that already are discounting their cars, or do you indiscriminately target all?

Over the years, I’ve tended to focus my efforts and send target offers to dealers who already show a significant discount on a car in the hopes they don’t have to move as far to hit my numbers, but as many dealers obfuscate their actual discount and just list a selling price with the rebates apparently already applied, I’m starting to wonder if trying to target specific dealers is even worth it.

Curious what the rest of the group has found?

I don’t even look at what discount they have listed honestly

I target all dealers in a predetermined radius that I’m willing to drive who have the vehicle I’m interested in irrespective of their advertised price.

I do prefer submitting my proposed deal directly to a SM or GSM and appreciate the dealer websites that list that contact info via the “About Us” or “Meet the Team” section. I still try via the conventional methods if that info is not available but realize the process will not be as smooth.

I do the same thing and start with a tight radius and expand little by little. I do tend to try and identify dealers that are high volume since the large discounts typically relate to them but not always. I just found some killer lyriq deals at smaller dealers which was more regional based - rural dealers where electric cars were sitting a long time.
