Not bad. Might actually switch to BOA. Currently have an old good chase unlimited + reserve and amex gold, but I am thinking boa with 4.5% cash back on online purchases is way way better bc I spend tons in that category.
This is my dining card (4X MRs / $), but I’m canceling it just prior to the next annual fee now that I can no longer use the airline fee credits (airline gift cards no longer trigger the credit).
I would never purchase a GM product. I’m currently driving a Chevy Tahoe rental (w/4k miles) as my Mercedes is in the shop. It is much nicer than I expected (this one is loaded) but does not really hold a torch to Japanese and German vehicles.
It says GM in the title. You can feel free to ignore my post if you don’t agree with it. I will randomly share anything I like, subject to mod censorship.
That makes sense. That’s my grocery card (just got a $250 statement credit for upgrading from the no-fee version).
Thanks for the tip on streaming. I’ll load (if you’ll pardon the expression) up on some prepaid minutes on AEBN and report back on the rewards payout if you’ll do the same with a PH purchase.
This could save the Lease Whackers a serious fortune.
I received the offer via email, but go to the site and check out Amex Offers; sometimes they’re listed there with the merchant spending promos.
Earlier this year I upgraded my Hilton card twice for 150k Hilton points x 2.
Of course the AF keeps going up, but the benefits far outweigh the extra costs if you are able to use them. I generally leave nothing on the table, so not an issue for me or others with the same proclivities.
As you probably know, many hotels are phasing out the disposable toiletries. I have a small stash in guest bath for guests, but they actually are great to donate to local women’s shelters and homeless shelters if you have a surplus.
Your wife is right: it’s fine on the road to smell whatever passes for “clean” that Hilton or Marriott bought in bulk, but I prefer my own combination of Unilever products/smells when I’m home.
And kudos to all our extreme couponers. In this decade I’ve lived in 5 houses in three different states: my minimalism is all about how much stuff I might need to pack and move. The $11 bottle of laundry detergent lasts me at least six months, I don’t need 5 more on standby.
Costco roasting chicken, gas (significantly cheaper in CA than I’ve seen in other states), and car wash on the other hand I’m here for. The AMEX breakup was tough on all of us but we’ve muddled through.
FYI, if you’re interested: to compensate for the loss of this unofficial benefit, the retention rep offered me a $100 statement credit for $2,000 in spending, but I canceled anyway. Most of the meaningful Gold Card benefits are redundant to one or more other cards I already have.
The Green (which I also have) was recently enhanced to 3X on dining, which will work well enough for now.
Yeam I am going to be cancelling my Plat/Gold January 2020… Really liked the gold card though, looks really nice, but I guess I am back to Saphire Reserved + Freedom Unlimited combo for now…
