If you’ve been a Costco member in the past, but aren’t currently, if you renew your membership your ‘member since’ stays with your original date of sign up and you can qualify for incentives even after they’ve started. My membership had been lapsed for about a year but I re-joined and qualified for the Volvo incentive immediately.
I’d assume it only works as long as you’re re-activating your old membership. Hope this is useful to someone!
