Random question about costco lease credits. I have an expired membership, do I need to have it active for 30 days (wondering if the 30 days only applies to new memberships) or can I just reactivate when I’m ready?
I have an expired Samsclub membership and got the Mercedes cash so wondering if Costco is different.

Costco lease credits require you to have the membership prior to the offer.
There have been reports of people being able to renew before and qualify. There was a loophole where you could become a member at a store that opened after the promotion started too. Not sure if that’s still the case.
Yeah, the loophole is to call and resume your original membership - not sign up for a new one in order to have your start date prior to the promotion.
Confirming that if you have an expired Costco membership and renew, you can successfully generate a code.
Also works for tread lightly for cdjr affiliate (reinstating your tread lightly membership, not using costco)

You can, even after cancelling 5 years ago.
Costco wont budge. I tried a number of yrs ago for my business partner. He missed a renewal and although he had an active membership they would not do it. They said in the past they had. As if Volvo would know his membership lapsed. He was living in stocks at that time far from any stores.
I just renewed by membership and it won’t let me get a code :(. What about being a user on another person’s account?

Are the codes first name specific? I just see the last name listed on them.
