I live in the fancy suburbs west of Boston so BMWs collect like belly button lint here. Good amount of the Volvo SUVs too. Don’t see many S60s coming and going. And I think subconsciously I like that, even if there is a BMW that is a better car. I don’t live in a comparison test.
We probably just see things the way we want to see them…I mean everything you say about Volvo, same powertrain/features, isn’t that the hallmark of every premium european brand, “same sausage different length?”
I’m not into the brand, be it BMW or Volvo. But take that drivetrain out of the lumbering SUV, drop it in the smallest sedan you got, give me the stiffest suspenders you got, I’m pretty happy. I’m not buying the brand, I’m buying a specific car.
