I signed a 13 month one-pay lease Nov’24, and it is set to come to term in Dec’25. I realized that I have to pay CA registration/VLF of ~$800 in Nov’25. When I called the dealer to see if they can extend the lease they directed me to Hyndai Finance. They said they can’t extend a one-pay lease. Wondering how your dealer is able to extend it? I may just forgo the last month lease term and not pay the $800 registration fees.
Any inputs would be most appreciated.
I was surprised at how slow to act most of these Hyundai dealers were given money is potentially being left on the table for them quite soon. I got a decent, not amazing, Ioniq 5 SEL AWD lease offer in NY but thats 14 hours for me round trip or an $800+ transport fee. Figured I could do better. So I threw it up to dealers spread across Virginia, match or give me your best you can do and I’ll sign today. Only two actually responded with an honest to god quote. The rest want you to come in to talk to them or even ask you to send in the quote from another dealer before they will do anything or just didnt message back. Interestingly all the Hyundai dealers use the same bad Chatbot with a picture of “Jessica”, no direct emails.
Ended up here, good, not stellar, certainly not Colorado numbers. I could have done better, but I hate haggling so I took the best and hoped I didn’t leave money on the table. Hope that helps others out. I’d post in a separate thread, but too new here to create my own topic.

Hyundai dealers in CO seem to be a lot more aggressive this month, similar numbers but I’ve had tons of follow up calls. Ioniq 5 SEL is easily ~$120/mo now. Kia got more aggressive on the EV9, Mazda is pretty much out of stock, Chargers are a dime a dozen and Ford has its head all the way up it’s @$$ still refusing to do anything with mach e or lightning.

$120/mo? Were you able to work out something with any of the dealer? I am planning to lease one if i can get closer to that price point.
