Co-Lessee After Signing Lease?

Ok, when I leased our car for my wife and I, I did not add her as as co-lessee. How much does this matter? I will drive the car most but she feels a certain way not being on the lease. I already have a car that I finance under my name and thought (after the fact) that I should have added her since this may affect my credit. Then again I’m not sure adding a co-lessee makes a difference on my credit or not.

Is there anyway to add my wife to my lease as a co-lessee after the fact? This is through VW and I’ in NY so I’m guessing it depends VW Credit and their rules.

You cannot add a co-lessee after you have signed the lease.

Tell her she has the best of both worlds, she gets to drive the vehicle and you are solely responsible for paying for it - so she gets to drive it for free, with no liability.

I agree. I guess it’s the principle…worst case if she wants the lease in her name I guess it will have to be through a lease transfer. I’ll call VW Credit to find out more.
