I have a chrysler capital lease with maturity date of May 2025. I have 85 days remaning on the lease and have 2 payments remaining.
Can I make the 2 remaining payments and turn the vehicle in right now?
Will it be considered early termination? If so will the final charges be just the remaining payments+ etf fee or will it be difference between by residual value minus auction selling price?
TIA
Just return the call aka ground and wait for the final bill in the mail - make sure you get the inspection done if there’s any damages
The bank will bill you for any early term fees
You have to be careful with Chrysler Capital though, there’s been reports of people receiving bills for the difference between the end of lease value and the auction results. I’d call them and make sure that you are within a window where you can’t or won’t be penalized for anything like that before I ground the car.
Some very recent similar discussion:
Wow I didn’t know Chrysler was that problematic - I guess be careful with them
Another story…
This window, if you’re just grounding it, is any time after the final payment is due (aka last 30 days).
